After the queen sized blanket sat for a few hours...the scent of Bounce Bursts got a little stronger. Woo-hoo. Still strange. LOL

The reduced scent is probably due to the increased heat level. I, too, have found that the scent increases once clothes sat for a while.

The only thing to remember is to clean out the condenser blades about once a week with heavy use. Otherwise, stuff dries on them and they are difficult to do.

Larsi has taught me something, too. Since day 1, I've had problems with my sheets balling (not twisting) in the Miele dryer. This bothered me since so many people gave rave reviews about how great Reverse Tumble is and nothing will ever come out bunched up. Well, even one sheet was bad news on Cottons or Minimum Iron.

Larsi told me about the Automatic cycle, which I had never used. To my delight, it reverse tumbles exactly once per minute. This is a lot of reverse tumbling -- surely more than is necessary for clothing -- but does wonders on keeping sheets from balling. Today I tried both of my huge, heavy, Rough Linen sheets at the same time. It took a long time to try them (almost 90 minutes until they reached "Hand Iron" status), but they didn't ball up. I'm thrilled!

Scent is not much left after drying I also think. I learned a think now about useing the automatik program witch I almost never use. I use it on the washer as a quick wash program when a full cottons to long a express to short.

I dont know there are a learning curve with a condenserdryer, I only have ahd that until 8 years ago. As I se it there are not much time difference between them.

Maintnance is not a big deal, I have the hoze connected to drain away the water and cleaning the condenser is a breaze about every 6 months.

I do use a vacuumcleaner to vaccum the filter+door and the filter in the door and under them with a special thinner hoze thing.

When the condenser is out i wipe out the cavity and also vacuum with a wet and dry vac all the way in were the water collects, dust gathers there and can block the pump.

Even with a currently vented dryer and a pricey fragrance house detergent used for sheets, I've been taking sheets out at 90% dry and letting them air dry. They retain the scent much better and dry relatively quickly and seem to be much softer and allows the wrinkles to relax a bit.

Now i'm worried about my T8033c once it's delivered!

@Cal - don't worry for a second. You will love your T8033c; in this I am confident. It may take longer, and you may have a bit less remaining scent, but the feel of clothing is very nice. The hot, humid environment really make things de-wrinkle and dry evenly. Mixed loads are not nearly as concerning since nothing will come out fried and over-baked. Anoop, who used to be a regular contributor here, was actually more enamored with her T8033c dryer than with her W3038 washer when first delivered.

And Cal -- just when the heck do your Mieles show up? I feel like you've been waiting forever :p

Anyone with a rotary iron care to weigh in on scent longevity?

Don't the LiGi condenser dryers have two filters? My Bosch has and I only clean the condenser about twice a year, while using the dryer 3+ times a week. You run some water through it and you're done.

LiGi has 2 filters, Condenser & Vented!

Miele Concierge says cleaning the condenser filters can be done as much as once a month, or as little as a few times a year....depending on usage!

Yes, cleaning the condensing filter is VERY easy. Water rinse and done!

I believe @Linus is the only member with both a rotary iron and and a condenser dryer. @Roc and @Enduring both have vented Miele dryers.

Wow. I am a little heartsick I was so afraid of the Meile condenser dryer, and went with Speed Queen. My appliance salesman recommended Meile, but I didn't understand you could drain the condensation. And I sure didn't know about reverse tumble. What a great thing that must be. I had to stop and unball bedding in three loads today . . . Love the updates, Larsi.

Sorry Lizzie. Yes, the Miele condenser dryer comes with a super thin hose, and we just added it inside the drain with the washer drain hose. No worrying about every emptying the condenser tank. SO easy.

A Reverse tumbling dryer is the most important feature of a dryer to me!

Miele, 70 Series Electrolux & Elux compact and one GE model (think one Fisher & Paykel) reverse too. Amazing for sheets and blankets and clothes are so wrinkle free and fluffy!

Lizzie..I have a Speed Queen dryer and I've never had balled up or twisted sheets or anything else..now TL washers are a different matter. .so glad those days are over lol.

Just dried a fairly large load of 4 cotton hoodies and 2 big towels. I washed them using Cottons Universal 120F, 3 Rinses and 1400rpm spin. I used about 2 TBS. of classic Original Scent Tide powder, 1/2 cap Bounce Bursts and a FULL cap of Spring Bloom softener. Before putting in the dryer, the load smelled absolutely amazing. Clean, fresh, soft and wonderful.

Dried them using Minimum Iron Normal+. Took about 50/55 mins including an Extended Cooling Down. Open the dryer door....and there is that strange, herbal, old fashioned detergent scent with the faintest, slightest hint of something chemical (chemical scent always goes away with a min or less).

I get a whiff of the Bounce Bursts, but absolutely NO Tide powder or Spring Bloom softener (a FULL caps worth). Crazy, right? What does the Condenser dryer do to scent?

I can use Tide powder, Bubble Bandit powder, Tide TotalCare liquid, an all Stainlifter pod, Tide Free & Gentle pod, fabric softener, no fabric softener...EVERY load smells the same. It is "clean" and "fresh"...but why are none of my fav scents there??

Any Condenser dryer owners know? Thanks.

I must say though with the Condenser dryer....EVERYTHING is soft, more fluffed than ever before, wrinkle free, smooth and looks and feels absolutely amazing!!! Wonderful actually!!

This morning, I took a few deep inhales of the 4 hoodies I washed and dried last night (see 1st post about products used)! There was a slight Spring Bloom softener scent. Slight, but there!

It for sure had a more defined "herbal" scent to it, which I have noticed my Condenser dryer does to all scents. I guess this is a good thing, as my family keeps telling me everything smells fresher and cleaner dried in the new dryer.

I will have to just get used to the fact, that the moister & warmer drying environment of a condenser dryer alters scents that I have been used to in a drier, vented dryer.

:( I do know how much you love your scented laundry, Larsi. Hope the benefits of the drying performance outweigh the loss of residual fragrance. Plus, it does look awfully sexy matched to your washer!

Thanks Alex. So far, the drying performance and the feel of fabrics in my new Condenser dryer is for sure outweighing the loss of residual fragrance.

I still have fragrance after drying, but the scents are just totally different than I have ever had using a vented dryer (Miele, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, Samsung, Kenmore Elite, Maytag and Electrolux). In these vented dryers...Tide powder and Downy April Fresh always smelled like Tide powder and/or Downy after drying, same with Up & Up Spring Bloom softener.

In the Condenser dryer, all scents are dramatically reduced and changed to a faint, herbal/old fashioned detergent smell. NOT bad in any means, just different, and strange to me that almost regardless of the product used, the scent after drying is either very similar, or identical. BUT....drying performance is AMAZING!! I think I do love my dryer, and I could not LOVE my washer any more than I do!!

Crazy. And, as you know, the Bounce Bursts crystals left such a strong scent on my clothes that I had to wash a few of the t-shirts again, and even after a second wash I could smell it (but it was greatly reduced and finally pleasant at that level)!

Can't say how it will perform in the condenser dryer (yet) but...

cal22....Isn't it totally amazing that P&G has kept Bounce Outdoor Fresh the same scent for decades & decades? I LOVE, LOVE the Bounce Bursts. I keep 2-3 big containers on hand at all times.

I do like the Downy Fresh Protect April Fresh too, but like the Bounce Bursts more.

I gave all my Miele Ultra White to MamaPinky. I like it, but she loves it more than me! :)
