I sense the slightest whiff of SPAM in the above post, but I took a look at the site. I agree with the idea of pulling the shower curtain away from the tub to dry, but you certainly don't need to pay $10 plus shipping for a clip to do that. I bought a clip at Home Depot for less than $2. Another thing that works really well is placing a plastic clothes basket in the tub after you finish showering and draping the shower curtain around it. Or even a bucket - just anything to keep the shower curtain from touching the side of the tub.

I know this is an old post, but I thought I'd throw this out here anyway. I recently used 100% cotton, white cloth and napkins and by the end of the meal they were covered in spots (I'm a very sloppy eater!) The stains included quite a bit of red wine. The laundry didn't get done for several days and I thought that they were all "goners". Not so. I sprayed them all with "Spot Shot" and EVERY SINGLE STAIN CAME OUT. I just washed them on a regular cycle with a regular amount of laundry detergent. Incidentally, when we had our carpet cleaned recently the cleaning company couldn't get out some black grease spots from the ladder used during painting. I just said "no problem" and cleaned them all up in a jiffy with Spot Shot. It's billed, I think, as a carpet cleaner but we use it for almost everything around the house. I have no idea what is in it so if I were using very fine linens I would find out a little more about it -effects from long term use on certain materials, etc. but for cotton linens, spotting our clothes, etc. we consider it indispensible. We've found it at various grocery stores but usually buy it in quantities at Sams Club. Here's to more linen-requiring occasions! Amy

There was a thing on Pinterest a while back talking about how to get out oil stains from clothes that had already been washed and dried. You put cardboard under the stain (so nothing would bleed through), and then you sprayed WD-40 just on the stain to 'reactivate the oil". You then followed that by applying lots of baking powder and pressing/brushing it in, letting it soak up the oil, dust off/repeat. Finally, glob on the blue dawn, rub it in, and rewash. I tried it on a few shirts and it actually worked. It was time/labor intensive, but I saved a t-shirt I really liked that I thought was done for. If interested in all the details, you should be able to search for 'wd-40 baking powder dawn' and get several results.

Hydrogen peroxide works on fairly fresh stains but you still need to test on an inconspicuous area. DH has a beautiful white terry cloth robe that the kids gave him for father's day and he managed to get some blood on it. He used hydrogen peroxide which took out the blood stain but it also yellowed the robe. I've never had that happen before. The robe was 100% cotton and the label tag said not to use a chlorine bleach. I've had positive experiences with Clorox totally Spotless Feminine Stain Remover. I hate the name and wrote them a letter complaining about it but the product does work. According to the label it contains Hydrogen Peroxide, Nonionic Surfactant. I have no idea why it should work any better that plain hydrogen peroxide but it has even removed some older blood stains.
