I saw Shiela with rosemary, in her hand. I sounds like something she would do. I had a great time at the swap. This year I had nothing to do with organizing the swap, I just drove there. Next year, the mayor of Balcones Heights wants us to let her know ahead of time, so she can put a note in their local paper, so if any residents want to attend to swap plants they can. She thought it was a wonderful idea having the swap, so everyone could get together to swap palnts. I call Delia the city secretary, every year, to let her know when we are having our swap, and get the phone number of the officer with the key. This year Delia was not in the office. There are only a few streets with homes in Balcones Heights, you can see them as you drive down Balcones Drive, the main road. Balcones Heights encompasses just less than one square mile. 80% of that is commericial property including Wonderland Mall, Springfield Marriot, Howard Johnson, Luby's, Howard Johnson, Tx Heart Hospital, Norris Confrence Ctr, Dave and Buster's, and at least 6 different Apts complex. There are very few homes, and most residences are seniors, that is why no one ever uses the park, not even children. It is just a neighborhood, but because of all the commercial property, they have a paid fire dept and police dept. If the mayor post information regarding our plant swap in their local paper, I don't think any of the residences will even come, except maybe the mayor. Barbra

The Lowe's store near me seems to have berry plants most of the time. They haven't put them on clearance yet so should still have some. I was there yesterday and didn't look at them specifically, but think I remember seeing them as I walked through. This was at The Rim on 1604/I-10. The 1604/Blanco store might also still have them. It's been so hot and dry that I haven't been to any of our great local nurseries lately, but if you get a chance you can try Rainbow Gardens or Milberger's.

Tosh, you will love San Antonio!! I live nearby and have always enjoyed the Riverwalk!! I've never seen it dirty!! The River Center Mall is built over the river in downtown San Antonio. I love to browse the mall. There is an Imax theater in the Mall too. You can take a barge ride along the river and the guide tells you fun facts about the city. Also the Alamo is nearby and a must to visit if you enjoy history. Also the River Walk is a good night spot. There is a Howl at the Moon which is so much fun. And one of my High School friends performs at Swigs, which is a martini bar. New Braunfels is one of my very favorite places!! I go there several times a month. Lots of antiques and German and Mexican food. Gruene is another place to visit which is actually in the New Braunfels city limits, but it's a little town all it's own. There are many antique shops and gift shops there. The river flows through and you can tube or raft on it. Several really good restaurants. The oldest dance hall in Texas is there and they have live music on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and I think on Sunday night too. Fredricksburg is another interesting little town. More antiques and gift shops. I have lived 50 miles from San Antonio all my life and I never get tired of going there. There is always a fiesta or some kind of party or celebration going on, and most of the people are very friendly. I'll be glad to help you with more information. Just click on my name and e-mail me. Hmmm, How about we just take them to you and then you can decide which ones you want. I'm not real good on plant names. The ones I do know are purple salvia, milkweed, shrimp plant, thornless passion plant, root beer (invasive), confederate rose... just an assortment, etc.
