Where should I place the hand towel bar in this small bathroom??
Comments (12)Your set-up, incl small size looks like ours. Be careful if you hang a bar or ring on the wall to the left of the sink. We were going to hang one there in the MB, but the towel would have hung over/ into the sink (we didn't want to hang it extra high). Here's what we did. It works for me (DH uses the other bathroom). Not the ideal location, I admit, but not too many options. Window on opposite wall, with a door that would cover most of the towel bar if we did hang it under the window....See MoreOne large bathroom or two small bathrooms?
Comments (26)In the picture, black is the current layout. Green is the change if only shower was made bigger and one door would be eliminated. Red is a complet demo, removing the wall section between two toilets. All the water lines from upstairs are in the section of the wall that is between two toilets so removing this wall would require a major move of water lines to the side and there would have to be a section of wall kept behind new toilet and vanity. The door from master would have to be framed and move to the left as a pocket or barn door. The drowing is disproportionate. It is all very cramped in there Current shower is only 26"x26". But may be replacing vanity for a wall hung vanity in the larger bathroom would change the feel. It will all have to be torn down and replaced including removing subfloors as they are rotten. So either remodel will be a lot of work. What should we do?...See MorePlacing sconces asymetrical (small bathroom)
Comments (4)Thanks to both of you for your comments. We are just in the process of making a plan so it might be hard to visualize with an existing bathroom photo. However, we also saw a number of examples on houzz where the mirror was just slightly wider than the sink (we plan to use a vessel sink) so if we go with a much narrower mirror then we believe we can fit a sconce on either side of the mirror. Thanks again for quick replies!...See MoreHelp! How to best utilize space above sink/toilet in small bathroom?
Comments (8)Thanks for all the replies. J Design - the ceiling is 8 feet high. To the left of the photo (unpictured), there will be a new 60x30x18 tub. The back wall, pictured, is 80" including where the tub is. That leaves 50" and realistically 48" to play with if I space the edge of the sink at least 2 inches away from the tub. After looking more closely, I'll need a pedestal sink narrower than 22", the sink pictured is 19" and the tub now is 29" on the most outer part. ACM, I think unfortunately, having even a small vanity would seriously crowd the tub, or vice versa. We hope to put a partial glass enclosure but need to think about if we can hinge it at a place that still gives us room to exit the shower near the sink. Does this all make sense?...See Moreamykath
