Comments (97)Carol-I posted a new July swap for you...sorry I have been so busy this week I didn't check in earlier. If you can post when one has been started hopefully you can use the one I just did for you. Thanks Astroknot not sure if Carol read your post. Margaret-I received my box and shame on me for not posting earlier. Please forgive me. My anniversary was today and I had to set the alarm clock and get up to dig for two ladies who buy alot of plants from me. It was a good morning but I am so tired. Was really hoping to do something really special with DH but it did not work out. I do hear some fireworks even though I cannot see them. LOL Anyway...Thanks so much for all my goodies, the gift certificate was way enough. Margaret sent: Body butter-Vanilla & cinnamon (I love this stuff.) Flag can cooler 6 pack refill for Pop-up note dispenser Pop-up note dispenser (I go through these like mad) Volleyball note pad (It could be a soccer but I need it) Flag Holder & Jumbo Glow stick(Dawson will take this from me) Two pig ears for the dogs(They loved these, I will have to get them some more) And my socks-I truly love good socks and these are airplus aloe infused....I know I will be searching for more of these Margaret it was just like Christmas opening your box and everything was wrapped so special. Thank you so very much for your kindness. I hope you and everyone had a fabulous 4th of July. Shirley...See MoreIt's June 2014, how is your build?
Comments (150)wow, haven't been on for a while-so much to see and hear! Encouraging in many ways and also gives me an idea of what to look out for. Got sticker shock from builder's estimate so back to looking at what we need, what would be nice to have, and what we'd like to have. To be honest, we were under pressure to get everything spec'd out and didn't really pay attention to cost. Some of it was easy to cut back on and we're working on other areas. Love our architect but he designed a challenging build(based on what we were looking for-main floor living and maximize ocean view). Fortunately our builder has worked with him before and he really has gone out of his way to help us with all the permits needed to build in this central coast California town. We got our minor use permit back in Feb. and have been waiting for building permits. Architect checked with county, someone put a hold on it for geologic reasons.Said person is now on vacation until June 30th. Architect followed up(geologic had been approved already in the MUP). Since we live in Pa we are very grateful for all the help Gary has done in dealing with the county. Once we get the building permits and construction loan approval(which should happen in the next few days) we're hoping to break ground. On the home front, we're waiting to see what happens with my husband's company's reorganization. Our initial plan was to move to AZ(where he has been working for the past year) but now we don't know if he'll be there, in NJ or unemployed. (he retired from his previous company last year so we'll be okay, but have more wiggle room if he's working. However, if he's not working we'll probably rent in CA-much easier to keep an eye on the build). This limbo thing is taking a toll, but we know it will be good in the end. Okay-probably way too much info for you, but gave me a chance to vent.Again I really appreciate reading everyone's stories-love the positive and supportive nature of this thread....See MoreCC May's Game; Two Hundred Up
