'Fourth of July' and 'Red Intuition' are my best. Different climate from yours, so no idea on disease resistance in your area.

Is your Red Intuition grafted? I would love to give her a try, but have only seen it grafted & I prefer OR. Perhaps it's a variety which doesn't grow well OR?

I have Raspberry Cream Twirl. Its a pink and white striped climber with big cupcake like blooms. Mine was a band last summer. Its around 5 ft now and still growing. The foilage stays really nice and green. Its the only striped rose I have so I can't compare it to the others. The fragrance is light rose/green apple so that is probably the only drawback-that its not strong.

I dont have a trellis set up for it yet lol, so it sprawls on the ground and still no blackspot so I guess its tough. I don't spray here at all and our summers are usually in the 90's with rain every other day or so. So pretty muggy. It is a mannerly climber and the canes are fairly flexible.

I was gonna put her on a trellis with Laguna but I can see now that Laguna is going to be a big monster who will eat her for breakfast lol. So I am going to find a nice white climber to pair her with that wont overpower her. She is supposed to get to 12 ft and I expect probably larger in FL.

Brushwood nursery online has these for 15.95 or something like that, own root. I am not crazy about striped roses but when I saw her I HAD to get her lol.

This is a bloom that was 4 days old. They stay nice and the petals just kinda loosen up a little. So long lasting as cut flowers.

Wow!! It grows tall!! I love it with the white clematis! Would be beautiful for a wedding.

Vick's Caprice--an old rose. Good scent. Good disease resistance (at least for me). He is a charmer! Even good as a cut rose.

Love, love, love this rose. Seems to take the heat and does very well. It is one gorgeous rose.

I only have one, so I guess it's my best for now-Fourth of July, I have 3 Scentimental trees coming from JP this week, those might be my best in a month. :-)

I LOVE this rose. It is a GREAT rose. Good disease resistance. Changes colors daily and is never the same twice. Goes from white to pink.

Last but not least, I have Wedding Cake. Not an easy rose to find.

I have quite a few! Stripes and bi-color roses are my favorites. For stripes, I love Neil Diamond, Hypnotized!, George Burns, Candyland CL, Oranges & Lemons, Belle Doria, Wonderstripe, and Abracadabra. Disease resistance is best in Candyland CL and Belle Doria. For bi-colors, I love Double Delight and Heart o'Gold.

I am liking Wonderstripe very much. Does it hold color in the heat? I am in Raleigh NC with lots of heat & humidity fromMay - September. Fragrance on Wonderstripe?

Wonderstripe holds color fairly well for about 5 - 7 days, then starts fading a bit. Fragrance is moderate and sweet.

Holly W, once you go stripey, you don't go back. I just love my stripeys. They provide so much interest and are ever changing in my small garden.

My 'Red Intuition' has done well on its own roots. It has an extremely vertical growth habit.

Tropical Lightning, just got that also. Very nice on initial impression, time will tell how well it performs.

Personally, I'm glad that Wedding Cake is not easy to find. Looks more like someone barfed up their cake instead.

I have scentimental , Kordana bonanza , Cecile, flirt, white maman crochet the most floriferous and vigorous out of them is maman cochet. Bonanza is stunning color wise but a shy bloomer and slow grower hope it takes off once it matures. Flirt is a good bloomer and has blush pink blooms with an apricot center and is about 2X2 but it's should get to ateast 3ft

Well bless your soul, Phyllis. Wedding Cake isn't for everyone but it is a good rose bred by Ralph Moore. No disease to speak of at all with it and can take heat. Rates high for that in my book since where I live gets to be the temp of the surface of the sun in summer. So a lot of the roses others can grow, I can't because of the heat.

Would love to see your striped roses. Hope you put up some pictures soon or that this thread will convince you to get some. They really are wonderful and unique roses. I love seeing pictures of everyone's roses.

I think Wedding Cake is one of those roses that one either loves it, or hates it lol. It is unusual. I think it is kinda old fashioned antique looking with those aged/muted colors. I also like other odd colored roses like Koko Loco and Butterscotch climber. I usually dislike really bright orangy reds but love some (usually softer) oranges like Pat Austin and LOS lol. I do really like the tropical lightening rose though. Maybe because it is so unusual. Everyone has their preferences.

I just started growing the Can Can climber last year and I have to say it has some beautiful blooms. It's like a tricolor rose..some blooms have a lot of deep purple, along with the pink and white. The white is more internal rather than on the outer petals.

I'm in a dry climate so my best may not suit you. But I do love Double Delight, Granada, and Red Intuition.

I want Red Intuition own root REALLY REALLY REALLY badly!!!! I am now a woman on a mission!

I just bought a 'bodybag' Grenada from lowes in March, it has leafed out really well and has one giant bud that I'm impatiently waiting on to see its beautiful bloom!! And yes you're right Jasmine it doesn't have a space..idk why I assume it does? Lol regardless this thing never stops flowering...I planted it next to my hideous chain link fence to try and distract people from noticing how ugly my fence is lol. Needless to say it's working, I get so many compliments on these roses. I will also say the thorns are no joke! They have big spiky thorns but then they have these microscopic thorns similar to a cactus!! Yeouch!!

I have the latter--not quite as cold hardy as it should be for my Zone 6, but most of the time does fine. The previous winter was really, really cold and Red Intuition didn't put on much of any display last summer. Most recent winter was very nice (for winter) and Red Intuition is coming back in stride--I'm glad to report.

I still have one new rose that hasn't had its first bloom yet this year--Broceliande. That is such a wonderful stripey and was my last open spot in my garden, so it is going to have to take up all the slack by itself.

Nessdizzle, you will love Granada. I bought three body bags, also at Lowes, 3 years ago, and they have gone bonkers. Never boring! Here's one --

Daring Spirit is healthy, vigorous, and disease free so far (in zone 10a/20), The blooms are huge and very, very fragrant -- old-rose cold-cream sort of fragrance. Daring Spirit's blooms last for days indoors. A keeper!

I just love those blooms on Daring Spirit. Oh so many roses I would love to have and unfortunately, no space.
