Of the STRIPED roses,,best for my zone???
Comments (4)Gbehbeh, Good to know about Candyland. I had that as my first choice for a climber but was afraid to try a new comer so I got the Berries n creme instead. Agility mom - Of O n L, Tropical S, Cabana (where did you find that) and Scentimental, which one smells the best or you were mosts impressed with? I'm leaning toward Oranges n L or Tropical S for the look, both gorgeous but which of all you have, have you liked the best, most prolific bloomer etc.? Thank you, very much. Michael, I'll have to hunt down the Grimaldi,,just beautiful!...See MoreWhat are your best striped roses?
Comments (49)Burlington Roses has Shadow Dancer, a striped climber by Ralph Moore. She also has Flamingo Dancer, similarly beautiful, but a lighter pink. Here's Shadow Dancer in a vase. Gigi is a miniature rose I purchased from Trader Joe's, but you can also find it at other stores that carry grocery store minis. Peppermint Kisses is from For Love of Roses. I'm looking forward to seeing Alakazam, a yellow and red striped miniflora rose available at For Love of Roses. I have no room for more, but my friend ordered two, so I can enjoy seeing them in her garden....See MoreShow your roses by color: BI-COLOR/MULTI-COLOR
Comments (17)Henrik--I'm envious of your Broceliande. The colors on yours are what I was hoping my Broceliande would show, but no luck, alas. I'm beginning to wonder if what passes for Broceliande in America is different that what at least the Swedish are growing. Mine is a quite lovely mad hatter pink and white--but that isn't what I was looking for. And you have so many other petal-packed fat and beautiful blooms on your other roses also, Henrik. Wish I could tour your garden. Kentucky--love your Rainbow Niagra and Joy! Lisa--Princess de Monaco is gorgeous! Doesn't anybody have a bunch of those "sunrise/sunset" type roses--like Tahitian Sunrise (or was it Tahitian Sunset)? At one point, nurseries seemed to be offering lots and lots of those. I found them very attractive. Kate...See MoreShow your MULTI-COLOR/BI-COLOR ROSES
Comments (37)All of these photos are stunning! How about Sara-Ann's Peace photo - wow. Absolute perfection! Actually, Sara-Ann, all of your photos are fantastic. Nice job. I really want to compliment everyone here on your photos! I think everybody here is becoming better at photography as a by-product of loving roses! Vapor, the only reason I don't spray Peace is because it's so very dry here. I feel like I get that one break, but heat sure fries Peace's blooms in mid-summer. That was last year's Spring flush. Peace does continue to bloom at least two more big flushes, but it's pretty hot by that time and it doesn't always look so pretty. Carol, I feel so bad for my Peace stuffed in that pot for three years now I think. We're in the planning stages of our house and yard remodel so the poor thing is going to have to stay were it is for another season. It keeps getting bigger and stronger each year there along that fence. I hope it can manage in that pot for a bit longer. Candice is lovely and most all of the roses I managed to get from Ludwigs seem to do really well in our extreme heat - all but Purple Lodge who's blooms fry as soon as the sun comes up. Lady of the Mist is just a baby and puts out giant blooms packed with petals. Amazing! I look forward to how it does this next season....See Moresultry_jasmine_nights (Florida-9a-ish)
