hanging heavy artwork
Comments (5)Rockler offers an ultra-thin hanging bracket similar to a French cleat but it is only 1/8" thick, which would be tighter to the wall than even most picture hooks. I would use a couple or three - I always go overboard on heavy stuff, contact Rockler about weight limits - along the top cross-bracket and use a heavy-duty wall anchor if you don't have studs in the right locations. (Get your minds OUT of the gutter, ladies.) I prefer the self-tapping "Twist & Lock" anchors from Buildex EZ Ancor, which are sold at Home Depot....See Morewhere should I hang artwork on a wall with a TV?
Comments (11)Top of the artwork on both sides should form a straight horizontal line. In this case I would make that a small but noticeably lower than the top of the TV. Because you are framing the fireplace with the same chair I would continue the symmetry with your pictures. In this case 2 on each side. They don't have to be the same pictures but they should relate. I'd also suggest making all the picture frames a darker tone to provide contrast to your wall color. Just my take, I'm a fan of symmetry when you can make it. It's more soothing on the eye....See MoreHanging Artwork in Scandinavian Style?
Comments (4)What is Scandinavian style to you? There are lots of different Scandinavian styles hence I'm wondering. Are you referring to a modern Scandinavian style? If so thin mejtal frames (black, silver, or brass are all good) or no frame at all, but just the glass....See MoreHanging artwork on wall behind stove

I doubt seriously that anyone would be hanging a Van Gough in thier kitchen so if you hang an inexpensive piece of art what does it hurt if you seal it to keep it from fading and to make it wipeable? I actually got the idea from a lady who works at Home Depot because the tile art is very pricy....See Moreceezeecz
