2009 Bloom season begins......
Comments (19)jkayd_il5: glad you enjoy my photos. I'll be posting more as they bloom for me this season. Kathy: Yep, I knew when you started posting photos that mine wouldn't be far behind. I'm pleased with the FFO on AB, just hope the scapes grow up a bit more. :) Ann: Looks as though AB was pretty popular. I think you'll be pleased with it. Bill is very generous isn't he? Rick: Well, I'm not surprised with your potted dl's. You always have good luck with your method. Can't wait till you start posting your beautiful photos. Rita: Thanks Hon, I'll post more when I have them. Should be getting lots of blooms shortly. greenthumbfish: Thanks :) Chris: Thanks. :) I think maybe there was a mistake on the description. None of the photos I've seen of it look orange at all. Julia: LOL..I'll have to wait for more blooms. Got lots of scapes but nothing else blooming except Cosmic Hummingbird which I didn't get an opportunity to make a photo of today. Kay: I love it too, and I think you'll be very pleased with yours. Be sure to post a photo when it blooms. Jan...See MoreSeason beginning up North
Comments (5)Hi Anne , I am new to this sight and really enjoying it. I am quite a distance west of Chicago so we may have similar conditions. Everything was slow coming up this year. I got a Flutterbye this spring and it bloomed about a month after it got planted, just loved the flowers. Mine was a lighter shade than yours but it came from a different zone, see what happens next season. Sherry...See MoreBeginning of the season for me...
Comments (12)Thanks all, for your comments. Rita, glad you liked Orange Velvet. It's the kind that can't be captured correctly by my camera, because it has more orange in the coloring than what you see in the photo. Karen, I'm impressed that you like Ozark Jane. That one's going to have to grow on me for a while. Julie, yes, Wide Eye Bayou and Witch's Stick are a couple of my favorites too. I never thought I'd like UFOs and spiders, until I saw them blooming in my gardens. I love the way they flow in the breezes. Kay, (organic kitten), I'm glad Red Rum proved itself "worthy" of keeping, otherwise I was ready to cull it if it didn't improve from last season. Kay/phal, glad you liked Samar Starfire. It took me a very long time to learn to like the reds. I think I was getting tire of too many pinks, so I branched off into the darker colors. Max...I have the same challenges with some flowers too, that grow in spots where there just isn't enough sun, or maybe the soil is too clayey or dry. Berry...thanks for your encouragement Re: Ozark Jane. Debra, 400 at once?!?!? Kept you on your toes, I'll bet! Yes, I sure like the tall ones, they make nice accents in the gardens. Comments (22)Not me. I just happened to hit the wrong key on another post and here I came. I hope others see this post and realize you've got more added. Heavenly Orange Blaze is awesome, and you are killing me with that mystical elf and the Maltese Cross pairing. I don't like UFs all that much, but that's a perfect combo.......Maryl...See MoreNan
