Please post any corrections & we will work on them! Zone Wars Total: 17,910 Please post here with your current TOTAL count. Happy sowing! Zone 4 = 1129 Zone 5 = 6568 Zone 6 = 4402 Zone 7 = 4740 Zone 8 = 1071 Please click on the link to view the Zone Wars Spreadsheet Game on! Zone 6 = 4402 Zone 7 = 4740 It has been previously announced that containers sown on Winter Solstice Dec 21 - May 1 count for Zone Wars. You can celebrate May Day & sow containers! You have until midnight of Sunday, May 1, your local time, to sow containers that will count for Zone Wars. Any containers sown on May 2 do not count. Please post ASAP. Comments (13)Hot, hot, hot; dry, dry, dry. It's on course to be the hottest July EVER, here. We've had 16 of the last 18 days over 90F, most have been closer to 95F. It's 97F right now. What's really the icing on the cake is that the nighttime temps are only falling into the mid- to upper-70s. All plants pretty much close up shop in those conditions. These are temps we normally see in late August (if at all!). Let's hope the pattern breaks before then, and doesn't just double down. My roses have shut down, too, of course. I've taken to actually hosing them down twice a day. Not watering, just cooling them down. I'm not worried about BS, because the spores are inactive at temps over 90F, and the leaves are dry in two minutes flat (not kidding). But the plants do seem to appreciate the cold water.
