Coffee not soap
Comments (8)Do your other dishes taste soapy after they've been through the dishwasher? If they do,it's the dishwasher, the water, or the detergent, not the mug. If they don't, just handwash the mug with soap & water as recommended above. Did you know you can freshen your coffeemaker by "brewing" a mixture of vinegar & water? Discard (or compost) the vinegary water & brew a 2nd pot, using plain water, before you make coffee....See Morecoffee grounds on brug
Comments (4)I think the coffee grounds won't hurt and could only help. Once brewed, coffee grounds aren't seriously acidic, but they will release a little nitrogen. Frankly, a cat could poo daily in a well-watered, actively growing Brug in a big pot in the sun, and the Brug would be delighted. Mark...See Moreremoving coffee stains from carpet?
Comments (8)Old thread, new results... With respect to a hot coffee spill on nylon carpet, I'm afraid the solutions cited above were minimally effective. Spot Shot - Useless. Did nothing. Oxyclean - At specified concentration no effect. At twice the manufacture's concentration, mildly effective even with numerous applications. Hoover Platinum Collection Professional Strength Instant Stain Remover - Mildly effective even with numerous applications to the spots. Folex Instant Carpet Stain Remover - Useless. Did nothing. Salon Care 40 Volume Clear Developer - 100% effective with two applications. The Salon Care 40 Volume Clear Developer idea was found on a professional carpet cleaner forum where it was stated that letting the fluid dry between applications is recommended. In short it was cited that this is a low cost solution which is always effective on resistant coffee stains. I can attest that the pros know what they are talking about....See Morefrozen or iced coffee question
Comments (10)I'm the only one who drinks frozen coffee also. What I did was made a pot. Then I froze them in a ice try. I use about 3-4 cubes with milk or vanilla ice cream, then blend in blender. I have been looking for recipes but haven't come across a great one yet. My suggestion is to make 1 cup of coffee however you make it add ice cubes, vanilla ice cream and thats it. Here are some recipes I have found: Cappuccino Smoothie Recipe 2 cups brewed double strength coffee 1 pint coffee ice cream 6 cups ice 1 1/2 cups milk whipped cream, if desired cinnamon for garnish Place coffee, ice cream, ice and milk in blender. Mix well until smooth. Top with whipped cream (if desired) and cinnamon. 277 Calories, 36g Carbs, 8.8g Fat, 16.8g Protein =------------------------------------------- STARBUCK'S FROZEN FRAPPUCCINO The Frappuccino is blended with strong coffee, sugar, a dairy base, and ice. Make double-strength coffee by measuring 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per cup (serving) in your coffee maker. The copy will be even more authentic if you use Starbucks beans and grind them yourself just before brewing. Coffee 3/4 cup double-strength coffee, cold 1 cup low-fat milk 3 tablespoons granulated sugar 2 cups ice 1. Make double-strength coffee by brewing with twice the coffee required by your coffee maker. That should be 2 tablespoons of ground coffee per each cup of coffee. Chill before using. 2. To make the drink, combine all ingredients in a blender and blend on high speed until ice is crushed and drink is smooth. Pour into two 16-ounce glasses, and serve with a straw. Makes 2 large drinks. Caramel For this, add 3 tablespoons of caramel topping to the original recipe above and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream and drizzle additional caramel over the whipped cream. Mocha For this version, add 3 tablespoons Hershey's chocolate syrup to the original recipe and prepare as described. Top each glass with whipped cream if desired ------------------------------------ FROZEN MOCHA (makes 1 serving; about the amount of 1 coffee cup) Ingredients: -1 cup ice cubes *I use 5 and it works great -1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt, or ice cream -1/2 cup milk -1 envelope of any brand hot cocoa mix *I use Nestle -1/2 teaspoon Instant coffee granules *I use General Foods International French Vanilla -Fat Free whipped topping (optional) Directions: Place ice, frozen yogurt(or ice cream), milk, cocoa mix, and coffee granules in blender; cover.
