My Morning Coffee

Decided to toss the small amount of coffee remaining in old can.

OK.

Got new can from pantry
and proceeded to try to open it.( Folgers has a foil covering that
bulges somewhat and is very hard to get off). Struggled a bit----pulled
the tab, and wow! Coffee all over my counter by the microwave! Brushed
and wiped and got that cleaned up.

Was enjoying the fragrance of fresh coffee.

Over to the other counter -- measured my coffee, poured the water into
the pot. Bumped the edge of the can--coffee on that counter and
spilling into the stove burners!!! Cleaned that up.

Worked on a puzzle for a bit and came back to get my cup which I had warmed with hot water. What!!!!!! Water all over the counter, coffee grounds, too! Cleaned that up.

Discovered that I had forgotten to put the filter in the pot. Cleaned up the pot. Put in the filter and started over again with new coffee and water.

Got jar of old instant coffee from the cupboard. Boiled water in the microwave. Made a cup of instant.

Worked on another puzzle for a bit.

Now--ready at last for a decent cup of coffee!! Discovered that the
water had not filtered through. Went back to puzzle. The heck with it!

20 minutes later decided I must clean up that pot -- found the water
had finally passed through the cone. I'm now drinking a so-so cup of
coffee.

When I get showered and dressed I will again clean up the pot and
use a toothpick to unclog the tiny hole in the bottom of the cone. Then
I'll go downstairs and get a cup of decent coffee from the coffee
machine.

That is, provided I can manage a shower without another disaster.

Who ever said that an old lady's life is not eventful??????
