Shame. Stealing another's plants. Does this happen often?
Comments (18)Hi...nice job helping that person out like that to save their plants... as you all have said to keep your plants in the back is a good and safe place for them... its just that I for one really like driving arround and seeing others plants and yards, and get ideas for my yard.. and when I going garage saleing I like to see peoples yards and house plants they have outside.. a couple of weeks ago I happened to stop at a sale and the lady had a huge jade, the branches were as big as your arm...and also she had 2 burro tail plants that were hung from the eave of the house and they both touched the ground they were beautiful..she said they were 10 years old....how she takes them in and out of her house without them breaking up... true plant lovers look and don't take... we just ask for a cutting..;) linda.......See MorePolar Joy tree rose IS hardy
Comments (6)I too can report that it is hardy! I live in zone 4 (but think I sometimes am a zone 5) However, where I planted PJ is on an open southwest corner of our lot where the wind really blows. So no consistent snow cover and we got down to -27 degrees this winter. The only pruning I did was to shape, not to remove dead canes. As said above, wish it were double and "smelly" but I still love this rose. Will be buying another for the other side of the bed. This was taken shortly after planting. Marylu...See MoreMayday! Comments (23)Lanna, under Description your link says "A new development in tree-form roses, this stunning pink beauty is grown on its own stem and roots..." Are you thinking the same rose as the roots & stem is grafted at the top? As you can see from the helpmefind link, it will grow as a shrub normally. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=2.37681.2&tab=36 To create the tree form, one cane is selected to be the trunk & supported for straight growth. Bud eyes on the single cane that becomes the trunk are removed until the height desired is reached, when branches are allowed to grow from the top. It's a method often used to create standards from other types of shrubs. It is an oddball from the typical rose standard produced. On his website, Ping Lim says "This rose is not grafted and is the same rose from root to head." http://www.rosesbyping.com/polar-joy Summer, you are extraordinarily sympathetic. If you wish to pursue directly with Bailey Nurseries, this "unofficial" facebook page gives the corporate headquarters phone number but not email. The first entry by Janet Sharp deals with a 2-year guarantee on roses. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bailey-Nurseries-Inc/135326283184135 Bailey sales reps are listed on their website by the regions & states each covers. Comments (100)Aww, thanks Cattyles. But, sadly, it's still looking pretty ferocious. I took this pic of it this morning to send to DD as a warning of what to expect. Lucky for me, though, my Bare Minerals (powdered makeup) covers it really well for when I do go out in public. This is this morning before Bare Minerals: But, here I am right after the Bare Minerals makeup. This is before, though, I brush on a tan-ish sculpting powder that takes away some of the bluish-white....See Moredavidrt28 (zone 7)
