Has anyone seen this bed?
Comments (4)dancytm, Many platform beds accomodate mattresses only. I did see one or two at Eurway.com that said they accomodated both a mattress and a foundation/boxspring if desired. BTW, I have a "real" boxspring, made with coils. The boxspring really interact with the mattress and adds to the comfort. It is made by McRoskey. Many high end mattress manufacturers, such as McRoskey, Hastens, Vi-Spring, Reylon, etc., still make "real" boxsprings. Most of the other mattress companies make only foundations that do not have coils and really only elevate the mattress. So I guess this brings up a good question. Do you have a "real" boxspring or do you have a foundation? If it is a foundation, is the reason you want to use it, so that the mattress sits higher? BTW, a mattress on a platform bed will feel firmer than a mattress on a "real" boxspring. Here is a link that might be useful: eurway.com...See MoreHas anyone seen a light like this?!
Comments (3)This one is bigger, I think, but very, very similar. I googled "Draped Chain Chandelier" to find it. https://www.wayfair.ca/lighting/pdp/rebekah-6-light-bowl-foyer-pendant-lfmf1735.html...See MoreHas anyone ever seen a desk or any kind of furniture like this?
Comments (0)It is a desk which may have been brought home from Asia after WWII. It has what appears to be braided stick rattan legs as well as the foot rest/brace at the bottom and the sides with a dark mahogany top. I have searched for hours for anything like it in the USA and Asia and Japan, but there's nothing out there. I sure would like to find some history about it. I believe my great uncle brought to the states to give to his parents, my great-grandparents, all long deceased....See MoreHas anyone ever seen a light fixture like this?
Comments (15)mariacmp, your most welcome. Since it was 18 years ago and if memory serves me it was around $200 for the chandelier. And somewhere in the neighborhood of $100 for the two sconces. I think I’ll keep it since if I changed out the chandelier I would probably have to change out the sconces as well and they make great bookends. The opening in the living room ceiling to the library above is octagon shaped that’s the reason I chose a chandelier with “8” light fixtures. Best of luck to you....See MoreOlychick
