marciab 10: That is a gorgeous sink! ideamom: We had the same difficult decision and agonized between the fireclay and the copper. DH loves the look of the copper sink. We finally decided to go with 33' apron front farmhouse sink in dark patina which we ordered from Sonoran copper. We are having them hammer a star pattern into the sink as an extra flair. I am so anxious for it to arrive. We also ordered a square prep sink for the island (also with stars). We did a lot of research before selecting the sinks and this forum was very helpful. Our cabinets are SW Alabaster and are being painted this week. Sinks won't arrive until early May, but it will be worth the wait! If it is at all helpful to your decision-making, consider your faucets and hardware choices too. Our faucets are ORB and so is hardware. Our granite has some bronze tones and goes beautifully with the copper/ORB. All the best to you in your journey. I know whatever you pick will be beautiful. Allie the cost is right at 135/sqft. Not inclusive of the lot. High end finishes planned for the inside. White oak wide plank floors. 7". High end appliances Kohler farmhouse sink, large tile shower etc.....There will be some brick out front made to resemble a brick foundation not the 4 foot brick you see on a lot of homes. The siding alone was about 30k install included :( It is DiamondKote LP SmartSide. It does look soooo much better than vinyl though which is the norm around here in about 98% of new homes. The front and back porches, as well as the eyebrow, will be galvalume metal. Had to wait for siding to be done to install. cpartist- Yes they are ordered and finalized,. The cabinets are white Haas inset in the kitchen with full overlay gray stained island. White/gray full overlay elsewhere depending on the room. Cambria Ella quartz also.

Well, OK - you know what you want! So, next step is just to try some whites. Ive been using Zinsser Exterior Permawhite in satin for my white trim - straight out of the can - and have had good results with it. In fact it typically lasts better and long onger than the fancy schmancy Sherwin Williams Seafoam Green that I have on the other parts of the house. Its a nice true slightly warm white - not an identical match to the white aluminum storm windows but close enough to read the same. (It is thin and goes on thin, and I often need multiple coats - up to 4 or 5 - but the end result is a nice hard smooth surface. No I dont work for Zinsser LOL.) What color is the roof? Some people ignore the roof thinking it has no bearing on what their wall and trim colors should be, but thats a mistake I think... unless you're planning to replace the roof in the foreseable future I also give some thought to the neighbor's colors, not that anything has to be matchy or harmonize.... just to avoid flagrant clash which would have the effect of possibly making both houses less appealing. It happens sometimes!

Do you have to do a drop in? I would do an undermount, much nicer look. I use Le Creuset and other cast iron all the time, my SS sink came with a grid at the bottom, it's the best!! It really protects the sink from dishes and cookware. I had a farm sink previously and liked that one also, this time I wanted a more contemporary look and opted for a large SS undermount.
