ideamom: We had the same difficult decision and agonized between the fireclay and the copper. DH loves the look of the copper sink. We finally decided to go with 33' apron front farmhouse sink in dark patina which we ordered from Sonoran copper. We are having them hammer a star pattern into the sink as an extra flair. I am so anxious for it to arrive. We also ordered a square prep sink for the island (also with stars). We did a lot of research before selecting the sinks and this forum was very helpful. Our cabinets are SW Alabaster and are being painted this week. Sinks won't arrive until early May, but it will be worth the wait! If it is at all helpful to your decision-making, consider your faucets and hardware choices too. Our faucets are ORB and so is hardware. Our granite has some bronze tones and goes beautifully with the copper/ORB. All the best to you in your journey. I know whatever you pick will be beautiful.

wow! all of these farmhouse sink posts are making me drool!

how do you know if it's possible to install this type of sink if you are keeping your existing cabinets? i'm not sure if i could even get one of these because of the cabinetry :(

we plan on doing new floors, countertops, backsplash and appliances - but keeping the existing cabinets and painting them white. not sure how that would work out if we wanted to go with a farmhouse style sink.

i'd really love to see more photos of the copper sinks! gorgeous! ideamom i can't wait to see what you do with your kitchen!!

Does anyone know what size farmhouse sink goes into a 33-inch base cabinet? I suppose I should stick with 30-31 inches?

marcia: how long have you had the copper sink and how do you clean it? Will it dent easily?

We just finished our new home last December, so it hasn't even been 6 months.. but so far so good.. it doesn't dent at all, and I am not very carefull, I usually just clean it with hot soapy water.. and a scrub pad, occasionaly I use a mild kitchen cleaner, whatever I have around. There are a few small scratches.. but I had them after 2 minutes with my old stainless sink.

I also have a copper prep sink, that I don't use as much, and that is holding up just as well.

Love your kitchen. May I ask where you ordered your sink from and the brand of your faucet. Beautiful!! Also, do you know what guage your sink is??

I think after the fact I found a similar sink cheaper elsewhere, but they delivered when they said they would, which is good!

Our faucet is a Danze. Also ordered online.
