Is Castle cancelled immediately or are the plans still for a shortened season and then cancellation.

Any idea what the Blacklist:Redemption might be about?

Blfenton, we just saw a commercial today saying that Monday nite is the season finale for Castle.

Yes, as Jasdip said, there is only one episode left of Castle, and it will be aired tomorrow night. Per the producer (or showrunner, whomever it was...) they filmed two alternate endings -- one as a season finale if the show were renewed, and the other as a series finale if they didn't get renewed.

Because Nathan Fillion and the actors who portray Ryan and Esposito had already signed new contracts for a potential season 9 and the actresses who portray Martha and Molly were in negotiations for new contracts, folks are now wondering if the episode teasers that have been aired are from the "season finale" version and not the "series finale" version.

Jasdip -- The Blacklist: Redemption didn't have a "regular" pilot episode -- the episode that aired last week is considered to be the "pilot" for the spin-off series. In the new show, "Tom Keen" and "(Susan) Scottie Hargrave" join forces. The other two regulars of whom I'm aware will be Edi Gathegi (continuing his portrayal of Matias Solomon) and Tawny Cypress who will play a character named Nez Rowan. She was on a couple of recent episodes of The Blacklist to introduce the character.

With regards to Castle, Beckett did not want to continue with the show. Since she's the key player, they've decided to end the series. Apparently Nathan Fillion wanted to keep going without her.

If Chicago Med gets moved to Thursday night, it will be the kiss of death against ABCs lineup. I think it is the weakest of the Chicago shows (Fire and PD) and I hope Chicago Fire and Chicago PD remain. They are really good shows.

I love Castle and I'm really going to miss it. I like the whole "Chicago" series but I think Med is my favorite.

I hate they cancelled Mysteries of Laura. I really liked that show and it's the final season for Rizzoli and Isles another favorite. Not much left now.

I read some time ago that Castle and Beckett didn't get along at all in real life. Hard to imagine how they kept up their online chemistry so well. Or did they? I watched the early seasons, but that was before they got involved romantically.

I remember the obvious lack of chemistry on "Remington Steele" years ago.

No, it was Nathan Fillian who did not want to continue working with Stana Katic on Castle. He wanted her fired, but looks like it caused the show to be cancelled. At least that's what I read.

Is the daughter still on Castle? She must be pretty grown up by now.

Yes, Castle's daughter Alexis is working at his P.I. office. She is over 21, as she is shown drinking wine. Or is the drinking age in NYC less than 21?

Her hair is shorter, too, which helps with looking more grown up.

I'm sorry to see "Laura" has been cancelled. The plot to be was to have Laura and Jake get back together again. But only in our dreams now.

Rizzoli and Isles is another favourite of ours. We're going to really miss that one too.

So it seems that Fillion's ego has really gotten to him. :-(

I love the other two cops, they're terrific and work well together. I love your idea of having them do a show with the ME and have Martha pop in. I love her as well. They could carry a show for sure.

With the Chicago series, Dick Wolfe is making a Chicago Law this year. So he has all the areas covered.

I forget what network "The Family " is, but I am really angry today to find out that was cancelled with many many loose threads. I liked this show with it's twists and turns and now there are so many unanswered questions. Why would they do this? I know , to put on more insipid reality shows or unfunny comedys.

OMG...I can't believe they canceled "The Family"...you are right Lily...so many loose ends!

I probably will have withdrawals for a couple of weeks but then the new stuff comes...Wayward Pines...Night Shift...and it'll give me a chance to catch up with some books!
