When your co-worker grows your plants better than you can

I was given a pot full of what I think is Hahnii from a friend of mine. It was her mother's plant and she just couldn't care for it anymore.

My co-worker loves Sans too and when I told her about this plant I acquired, she asked me for a piece. I hesitated only because I didn't want to break up the solid clump, but I am a firm believer in sharing plants so I gave her a piece.

Historically I have always struggled with Hahnii, all types, and really only have done well with one, jade dwarf Marginated. So over the course of the year, the plant from my friend slowly crapped out. I tried more light, less light, more water, less water, everything. Now I'm down to one scrawny plant barely hanging on.

On the other hand, this is my co-worker's small cutting I gave her a year ago.

Sigh. Me and hahnii's have to have a talk about this sometime!
