The wide blade one is either an old style fescue, like Kentucky 31, or a weed grass. Hard to tell from the one pic. Its a clumping type grass. When I see one in my yard, I just grub it out and either re-seed or stick in a bit of sod to replace it. That grass seems to want to grow along hot sidewalks more than my improved grasses, so, sometimes there I will just dig out a length of it and lay sod in its place along the concrete.

Yeah thanks guys. I do any work outside early or late after sun goes down. I came home with some Purple Fountain grass, said grows 1-3 ft, to go with the cordgrass and muhly I already planted. I also came home with more Coreopsis, and one Gaillardia (50% off! last one). I have planted already 3 coreopsis (dwarf) and some portulaca that keeps popping up in the yard. I know I will have to weed eventually but I'm afraid to pull anything that is growing at the moment! I think I will pull up weeds and remaining lawngrass after my other plants are established. I will water them till they are established and occasionally if they need it but my regular St. Augustine needs to be watered at least 2x a week or it starts to die back. I also took some seeds from a very pretty beach sunflower that I found at the park ( the seeds only, just a little bit :), I also have some other Gaillardia (indian blanket) in the back that I started from seed and when they get bigger they'll go out front too. I also found a patch of beach sunflower out back that I'll attempt to propagate further. Seeds just take so long to get going I had to buy some already grown plants. Gosh it's so much work though :) Let's hope it works! I'll update after I get it all in.

If you add zeolite to your yard it will help get rid of all kinds of burrs and weeds. They thrive in poor soil and zeolite provides a wide range of nutrients that desirable plants need. We are out in the country and had a terrible problem with burrs and weeds. But a couple applications of zeolite has gotten rid of most of them in our lawn. Zeolite is available at feed stores and most garden supply stores in 50 lb bags. Just spread it according to the directions on the package and let nature take it's course. Now if we could just get rid of the f%*@^!g fire ants we could all go barefooted like we did when we were kids... Cheryl

Another vote for the PVC. Ask your landscapers for suggestions on how to handle the issues you are concerned about at the drop off. I can think of about three different methods to deal with that, off the top of my head, but one would need to actually see the site to fix on the best method. The best method is probably as Sofaspud mentions, terminate into a dry well. Once you trench, slope and install the PVC you are done. Any other solution presents ongoing maintenance issues of varying degrees. Whatever you do, do install a clean out somewhere close to the house so you can "jet" your hose into it periodically to wash out debris and critter nests.
