Hi Plantaholic Doesn't look like anybody wants to talk to you on this one. How do I find your photo of Aechmea 'yellow brazil'. I'm going to take a stab in the dark for you with the hint you've given ie: leptantha. A big yellow Aechmea you're looking at could be Ae. blanchetiana, another possibility with the hint you have given is Aechmea eurycorymbus, this is a large grey/green plant with a magnificent golden/red/orange, branched spike to 2.5mtr tall (7-8ft), this plant doesn't like as much sun as Ae. blanchetiana who is a full sun loving plant & comes in red,orange,golden & green leaf forms. If you have "MicroSoft Office" installed, look in the "all programs" menu to see if you can find a utiltiy called "photoed.exe". Run that utility and experiment with it. Warning: To preserve your orignial file, do not overwrite it. Do this: As soon as you bring a photo file into Photoed, save it under another name using the 'save as' commsnd. Now, you are free to 'mess' with the new-name file without touching the original. To lighten, increase the gamma. Experiment with photoed until you become familar with the feature that you wish to use. Photoed is a basic image editor, but is simple to operate and the things it does, it does well. It is missing a number of features found in other editors such as red eye removal and adding a title or text.

Is it all over the plant or on a section, Barb? If it's not all over I'd just remove the impacted pieces. Do you give it supplemental water? If you water in a way that the stream hits the foliage I'd change that so that only the ground is wetted. I've never sprayed my peonies, we're pretty dry here in CO, but have heard of people/growers using fungicides for mold issues.
