Tillandsia streptophylla care
Comments (3)Minda, all Tillandsias benefit more by being grown outside. They need air movement to trap moisture. Your strepto should be OK as long as you're stingy with misting. Bulbosa on the other hand can grow in very shaded environments. In nature they hang in densely covered forests, attracting pollinators with their bright red inflorescence. You can mist bulbosa very often (3-4-5) times a week. Try diluting fertilizer (orchid or Tillandsia, or even Miracle-Gro) in your mister at about 1/4 strength and hit the plant once a week with this. It may speed up the flowering process....See MoreDo you go out looking like crap and don't care?
Comments (27)Count me in with Bronwynsmom. I take it from my grandmother. She always got up and dressed, touched up her hair, etc. Said it helped her face the day. I of course have play clothess, etc. and I work in the yard, outside a good bit. Doesn't mean I run out anywhere in those clothes though. I'm usually a sweaty mess after yardwork. On days at home, I'm very casual (yoga pants, etc. alot, shorts and tanks in summer), but not hole-y, ripped up clothing unless doing something really nasty or heavy duty yard work. I don't wear alot of make-up at any time, but if I'm going out, I'll put on a touch. I have a wash and go hair style, so it's very easy and quick to do my hair. I'm not a fan of sweats as they are not attractive on most and we don't get cold enough that often for sweats around here. There are some cuter, updated, less bulky sweat pants, cardigans, etc. out now. I feel better if I've made an effort with my appearance. It never fails if I go out looking not so hot, that's when I'll run into the most people. Bronwynsmom, it's very private here and I'm often out back in my nighties, so I get the t-shirt and undies. Your story cracked me up!! tina...See Moredon't care about second bedroom but care about losing a closet
Comments (10)So I went back to the condo today with a realtor. I think I could definitely live with the 2nd bedroom now. I would make it into a study. I was disappointed that there is no washer/dryer in the unit but it is right next to the apartment. Of course, that means there would always be folks outside my door. It was on the 20th floor so it had a great view but I was a little weirded out being on a balcony that high up. I was also curious about the windows. They looked old to me and in one window the seal was broken (foggy). I have no idea if/when that would be fixed in a high rise condo. Also, what kind of assessment would that be? It would have to just pots and pots of money. There is now an offer on the place (not mine) but now I know I could live there--preferably on a lower floor. The condo comes with doorman, concierge, gym, pool, dry cleaners and restaurant. It is close to the museum, the main library, and other amenities. Then, I looked at another building in a different area of the city. This building did not have garage parking--I would have to pay 300-400 per month to park. The apartments and the building were in much better condition but of course, the price was higher. This was a one bedroom but I really liked it! So much to consider....See MoreGot slammed for posting something similar years ago, don't care!
Comments (43)I don't care whether the next panel is coming off of the front or the back, though I somewhat prefer the back ... and it looks to me as though that is the style in the original pic. As for the panels feeding at the front, and there may be splash from the men if the toilet is too close ... train your guys that civilized men sit down to pee. In a discussion at a friend's house a number of years ago, a lady with a husband and a couple of nearly grown boys and a couple of girls in similar age bracket said that she'd told her guys ... that if they chose to stand to pee - they cleaned the bathroom! The problem that I have with many of the holders that have a bump at each end just a bit smaller than the tube of the roll, but a thin bar in between, is that a number of the rolls are narrower than they used to be, and the bump at the one end doesn't hold them correctly, so the roll sits askew, and tends to bind when a person tries to pull some paper off of the roll. I remember a discussion here a few years ago when that narrower roll practice began, people were complaining that some stores (I think a major one being Mal Wart) were selling the new narrower roll, and they didn't like it. If I recall correctly, someone suggested that such rolls appeared to be intended for tight-assed people. When I was visiting that receptacle a couple of dozen times and more per day, back there in the winter ... I became quite concerned about using the paper carefully ... and wisely ... and even learned how to reuse it (should anyone have any interest in such a subject). By the way - do you remember my story several years ago about how some people had learned how to recycle toilet paper ... and then came on to say that I'd used the wrong terminolgy, that "recycling" necessitated some reprocessing, and the situation to which I'd referred was actually "re-use", as no "reprocessing" was involved (unless one called re-rolling a strip of the paper back on the roll as "re-processing")? It had been a different kind of "re-use" that time, though. Hope you all have a glorious weekend. ole joyfuelled...See Morestanofh 10a Hayward,Ca S.F. bay area
