How would you decorate this dining room wall?
Comments (8)If you have lots of art try some on either side of the fireplace, remove that mantel and get one in a wood similar to the table and add some proper trim around the fireplace. The mantel is too high to do much for decor. It seems odd to have the fireplace in this narrow DR was it something else before ? Some nice window coverings , remove the stacked tables in the corner and the clutter from the ledge. When doing the art just keep working at what works well together and I would google how to hang multiple art on a wall.I don’t love gallery walls but sometimes they do the trick if done right....See MoreHow would you decorate this eat in area in an open space?
Comments (10)Thank you! It’s not a rug but a carpet in the family room. I will be removing it and adding light maple hardwood flooring to match the kitchen and eat in area. But for now the carpet stays. The walls are a light beige/gray. It’s very pretty. Here is another picture with different furniture. I like this color palette but the wing chairs might be too formal for the area. I’n the eat in area, I would like the statement and elegance to be in the light fixture and the color in the chairs and a round distressed table. Any recommendations for these furniture pieces? After this I will begin looking for specific pieces for the living area, but these pics gives a good vibe of what I envision. Yayagal, I like the look of the sofas And chairs....See MoreHow would you decorate these shelves?
Comments (13)Pleasant room. Less is certainly better for the top shelves -- one tall item for the left and right look good; however, with the rectangle wall hung piece in the center, you might consider a single (approximately equal width) shallow piece such as an interesting well made basket https://www.pinterest.com/pin/43487952624695278/ a wood box https://www.rubylane.com/item/559187-RL001449/Small-Cedar-Chest-Box78-for-Trinkets or wood nutcracker bowl (with art hung above that) https://www.alamy.com/stock-photo-vintage-wooden-bowl-with-built-in-brass-nutcracker-31595689.html For the lower shelves -- they don't need to match but do seek some degree of symmetry. With brass on one side, consider a different brass piece of similar size on the other. With a wood item on one side, consider a wood item on the other. You could keep the wood and brass thermometer and barometer on the one shelf and add a small wood item to the shelf with the duck ... symmetry without being too "matchy/matchy". With books on one side -- even on only half of the shelf and something else beside them -- consider a mirror image of that general configuration. Would not scrunch a living plant on a lower shelf. or put one where it cannot get natural light. If you have any place in the room that gets sunlight, consider adding a plant stand for the living plants. https://www.lampsplus.com/sfp/33R43/?cm_mmc=GOO-SH--NA--NA-_-33R43&sourceid=DFGPD33R43&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI89KrjJGM6QIVMfC1Ch3YMw7_EAQYAiABEgKc-_D_BwE...See MoreHow would you furniture and decorate this room?
Comments (0)Hi, I'm having a really hard time trying to figure out how to furniture this room. The room is freshly painted with a white ceiling and light grey walls. At the moment the room really does not look or feel good at all and I'm running out of my own ideas so I though I'd find some brilliant minds over here! It's meant to be an office but also doubles as a guest room and I'm looking to keep it bright and inspirational. I would say that it's really only 2 pieces of furniture that I want/have to keep from what I have now and that is a sofa bed (1980mm x 950mm) and a Kallax bookshelf (1470 x 1470). I've attached some pictures of the room with measures. Really hope someone here can give me some ideas! Thanks in advance. Best regards, Stefan...See Morenosoccermom
