looking for a book on pruning pollarding
Comments (5)it's more about tree sculpting techniques, not regular pollarding. i am looking thru all sorts of bibliography on arborsculpture sites. but as far as i remember, the book was not about 'weird sculpting' like making chairs from living trees. perhaps closer to live willow hedges/structures, the way it's done in france. ken druse name is familiar - i think i have his book. i'll look into that, thanks. i searched landscaping forum - there's not that many posts on tree sculpting, which is surprising to me....See MoreLooks like an interesting book...

Comments (33)Everyone has been SO helpful!!!! You don't know how much I appreciate all the research. You are the greatest! I don't believe it was the Tucker sisters, although they do fit the descriptions that I gave. I called the public library this morning and asked to speak to a reference librarian. I told her my dilemma, and gave her the information about the "unknown book." She came up with a book that is described as: A WOMAN RETURNS FROM THE BAHAMAS AND DECORATES HER HOUSE PINK. That has to be it! What are the chances of there being another book like this. She is going to call me back, but she told me this book is by Dorothy Draper, a great woman decorator who introduced color to the world of decorating. And, it was the Bahamas, not Bermuda -- I knew it started with a "B!" LOL I know that Dorothy Draper wrote a book entitled, "In the Pink." Not sure if this is the book -- BUT at least, I'm pretty sure that Dorothy Draper is the author. The librarian was busy at the time so that is the reason she is going to call me back. Do you guys think you can help me find which Dorothy Draper book this might be?...See MoreNeed a gift idea!
Comments (15)How VERY exciting!! Thanks to the internet, I have been able to get in contact with many old friends. There are only 3 more that I am still trying to find. I hope that your first visit together is wonderful. It sounds like the two of you are going to be great friends from now on. I am thrilled for you! I love the idea of a coffee mug with her picture. If I were you, I would try to find a picture of you at about the same age that she was in the picture that you have of her. I would have both pictures put on the mug and then the word Friends somewhere in the middle. Or maybe get a current picture of her off of her Facebook page and use a current picture of you, and put the current pictures on one side of the mug and the older pictures on the other. Or have a nice quote put on the mug. Something like "The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart." Or "true friends can pick up right where they left off" LOL! Sorry for rambling! I am a little too excited for you. :) Have a great time together!!!!...See More- 10 years ago
