Do you need to drill into cast iron shower pan to install a door?
Comments (2)Sometimes the size/weight of the door dictates the hinge used, but that should have been figured out in the design stage. Top/bottom (curb mounted) hinges do need mechanical fastening to prevent shifting. So it's really a matter of design. Was the shower designed so the door literally can't be hinged to the wall? Or to an adjacent glass panel if there is one? If it's simply a matter of a non-imaginative installer, then that's another issue. If the doors were already ordered and they are detailed for a curb-mounted hinge, then the glass itself might need to be reordered to use wall hinges....See More65" long shower - do I need a door?
Comments (4)My shower is rough-in 60x36". If you have the opening at the 38" dimension and you walk into the shower from that end, and have the shower head back onto the back 38" wall, you might not need a door. If you have the opening to the shower at the 65" side, you will need something to stop the water cause it will come out the sides. In my shower I put up French doors. Both swing out or swing in. Love them. The back wall with the niche, is 58" finished...See MoreDo I need a custom Shower door
Comments (5)Do you need the half wall side piece as well? If not, google frameless glass bypass shower door. They come in multiple sizes and different manufacturers such as Kohler, Basco, etc. Home Depot and Lowes have them but I found cheaper pricing with free shipping and no tax at Build.com....See MoreHELP! Comments (15)Btw, in my second comment pics above - just was showing the darker tan cushion color - a couple of examples. Was not necessarily suggesting lime green pillows, etc. Although you do have a range of colors you could incorporate/with various possibilities I would go with your core colors, the tan and black - and use mostly tan on cushions in seating areas, with some white/off white on cushions where it might be possible - as well as some throw cushions with white, black or both + terra Cotta accents, as I showed in my initial comment. Just to again show general idea and some black and white accenting. and lots of terra-cotta ideas above. And I think a shade of blue on umbrellas could be nice....See Morekitandkaboodle
