Close up I like the seagrass,but I dont know what it would look like from afar. One thing you might not of thought of or maybe you have and you are fine with it, is how the ivory, which is sort of a yellow white, (it is not?) will look compared to the white shutters. Might have a dingy look?

Hard to tell in pics, I know. The shutters are not white-white but a closer match to our cabinets which go a little to the ivory side.

Here is the fabric against the shutter:

Seaglass and Opal are the same fabric in different colors and they're both lovely. A very, very slight almost imperceptible shimmer and nuance of shades.

I notice you have towels nearby. Is that the color you always use? If so, should the fabric be based close to that? I frankly don't care for a flowered band, it just doesn't seem to belong in that bathroom. I like the texture and color of the sea-green, which seems like a very fresh contrast against all the beige and white.

That is the color of towel I use, but I suspect that will change at some point when these start showing wear and I replace them.

Sea eagles and opal.

I like sea green the best. The others look very drab to me, not enough contrast with the ivory of the shade or other elements in your bathroom.

Ok, sea green is the only one out of the group that DH just said he dislikes. I'm gong to therefore remove that one from the running (but I can't edit to delete it). Sorry!

RA, here is Seaglass from afar and up close. It's shot through with aqua threads and is very pretty.

Hmmm...if Sea Green is out, my choice would be either Turquoise or Opal. I like the banded idea and would opt for a relatively strong contrast on the band.

TR, do you want these to make a statement in the room or sort of finish the room but not really stand out?. I really like the coloring of the last pic you posted, but it seems like it will simply blend into the room, which is ok if that's what you want, but if it isn't then I would go with a stronger contrast or even use the solid color for the interior and cream for the banding. Or a print you love for the base with a solid banding in a color pulled from it maybe?

My second choice would be turquoise then, which is softer but not as drab-looking as the other colors. I'm assuming they look the same in real life. If not, then only you can judge.

I'm thinking finish the room out, not jump out at you. Definitely a turn around from the patterns, I realize.

I keep narrowing down choices and getting DH's thoughts. He feels Opal is the best choice, and it is nice. A bit softer and more to the aqua side than its sister color, Seaglass.

I prefer the body to be ivory still and the band to contrast. Not planning to go back and look at patterns again.

Here is Opal again. Looks different in every little movement and impossible to capture with my phone.

Not drab at all. Soft, subtle, nuanced. I'm sure these aren't translating well from my phone to your monitors so this is probably an exercise in futility - but I appreciate you looking anyway.

Just my honest opinion, but maybe you should take a step back and give yourself a break. I know there will be a house very close to yours and that is why you want the window shade, but unless they have started to build, I think you have time to make this decision.

Also, have you explored ready made shades? It seems to me if you are getting something simple like an ivory banded shade, you really don't have to go custom.

Thanks, but I'm ready to get this rolling and plan to proceed with a custom shade. I want it to fit like a glove and ready made will not fit this odd sized window.

I still like the seaglass the best. It looks the closest shades in your granite and most neutral color, The other shades are more on the blue side on my computer.

Well, based on what you've said, I would definitely go with Opal or something like it in that it has more oomph.. KWIM?. The opal is pretty I think and in the pic where the granite and other items are posted they play off of each other really nicely.

I agree with Opal, especially since your husband likes it. On this last picture it has a more bluish-greenish tone, which I like.

I believe I'd be very pleased with either Opal or Seaglass. I'm going to see how they look after dark with only the artificial lighting in the room.

I like most of them. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices.

I like ivory and turquoise banding, I agree that the shutter should be whiter than the shade. Also agree most / any of those combos are lovely.

Turquoise
