New Video Chat Cell Phones
Comments (10)Imagine my shock as a first timer here, eagerly checking my post for replies from wonderfully geeky gurus, and the first words I see are: '"....I am not 'into' such things..." Whoa! What?! I thought everyone on here would be big-time techies, into all the new stuff. But, Sue, I see what you mean...scary indeed. However, simply because it's abused by some does not take away its potential for great good! I'd think that all who are separated from loved ones( soldiers, business travelers, grandparents, etc) would be as excited about its advent as am I....but apparently not. And raven, I know you're joking and well aware the video function must be chosen for one to see you in your unmentionables:>) :>O Thanks for the link, sue...I'll go have a look. p.s. I've recently become a fan of making quick texts, and I love e-mail. But, I'm beginning to fear the day coming when real phone conversations, and IRL meetings are passe....See MoreI need a new cell phone; please help me choose
Comments (4)We've had a couple of Nokia cell phones for several years through TracFone. We decided to go with the Motorola W376g phones because it is hearing air compatible, plus my wife wanted a new phone. Using the TracFone web site, transferring the minutes and telephone number from the first one went fairly smooth and it took just a few minutes before the new phone was working. Trying to do it with the second phone has been a problem and after 3 days is still not working. They first told me it would take 24 to 48 hours for the transfer to take place. and then they said it would take up to 10 days. I've tried calling them but with my hearing problem it's almost impossible to understand their overseas Service Representatives. So I've been dealing with them by e-mail. It cost $49.99 is supposed to have "double minutes for the life of the phone upon activation."...See Morecell phones, smart phones, iphones oh my!

Technology used to limit us as we were forced to languish in front of a landline while waiting for a call. Today people have become much closer to each other. Now, in order to talk with the desired person, a couple of touches on the smartphone are enough. However, the absence of this miracle gadget will make you feel separated from the world, which often leads to an acute feeling of loneliness. In addition, you may succumb to incessant boredom. 2. It will become harder to navigate without GPS The days of people using maps to get to the right place are almost gone. All smartphones are equipped with GPS, which helps us to reach our destination without much difficulty and wandering. Life has actually become much easier thanks to GPS, because this navigator shows us the right direction right down to the smallest turn. Therefore, in the absence of access to the global system, many people will not be able to correctly and quickly navigate in an unfamiliar area. Navigators have become such an integral part of our lives that most travel enthusiasts and those who often go on business trips can hardly imagine their lives without a smartphone with its indispensable GPS....See MoreTime for a new cell phone....
Comments (11)I'll either be getting the new phone from Alltel online or at the Alltel store, so I know the new phone will work with the service. Zipper, I hope you love your iPhone as much as everyone I know who has one, does. Give yourself a little time to learn it! And ask your friends to show you their tricks, if they have one. I can't get one, since I am not going to switch to AT&T. Minnie, my phone is a Samsung, it's a great little camera phone and it's our home phone and our computer connection, it stays here with the dog-sitter when we go on vacation, etc. So I'd like Woody's phone to be a giant step better than the little piece of junk Motorola he has now, it was like the cheapest phone they had and since he was getting a cell phone reluctantly, he wanted to economize. It's a good phone, reception-wise, but it does NOTHING. You can't even download a ringtone into it, let along take a photo. Terri, which LG do you prefer? I'll go look those up! Thanks for all the advice, people! If anyone has more recommendations, I'd love to hear it!...See MoreWalnutCreek Zone 7b/8a
