Help growing my Schefflera and Golden Pothos
Comments (13)Sorry for the super late reply, I've been really busy at work Yeah, I'm really concerned about the Scheff. It still looks the same. I was also thinking that the leaves aren't getting any water. When I repotted it, I didn't clean the roots which I think was one of the main mistakes I made. There also weren't a lot of roots, like it wasn't stringy roots like the ones from my flowers in my flowerbeds. I think another mistake I might have made was I used top soil instead of potting soil because I thought...well dirt is dirt, right? lol But from what I've read online maaaaybe I should have spent a little more for potting soil lol I did get rid of all of the dirt/mud from before. So I'm thinking.....maybe I need to repot it again using potting soil and clean the roots and maybe it will survive. I'm just kind of lost and frustrated but I really want the plant to live :( Btw, the Pothos is still looking great and is still growing new leaves so at least I saved it lol...See MoreHelp! Comments (42)Hi, I have a few pothos in transparent glass and acrylic "pots." I think transparency is not good for when you attempting to root a pothos in water. Amber colored glass works best. Also, transparent isn't great for pothos in water because of algae buildup. if you MUST have it in a Mason jar or in transparent container, get yourself some of those acrylic major jars or glasses from Walmart and drill holes in them. No one can tell the difference. edit: "mason " jars, not "major"...See MoreGolden pothos yellowing, limping, and possible root rot. HELP!!
Comments (8)Spraying the top with water isn't doing enough. You shoukd be fully drenching the plant in a ssink or tub with water untill you see it come out the drainage holes. That way all of the roots get the much needed water. Roots don't look like there rotting at all but the soil looks very very dry. I'd defently repot it into a bigger better pot with better soil as it's root bound. For the cuttings lots of people like to root them in water (including me) It's very easy and they usually transition over to soil perfectly fine. You can root them in soil, but I'm not too familiar with that method so I'll let someone else explain. Cut off the extra stem bits you have on them up to the nodes. The node on the plant is that little bump like thing that usually has tiny brown dots that ar the start of roots. . New roots will only come from these while the other stem will just rot. ....See MoreHELP!!! Golden Pothos Plant Question
