When and how should I spray my fruit trees for Cedar Apple Rust?

Hello everyone,

I planted four new fruit trees last year, two pear and two apple. I noticed at some point in the summer rusty-looking spots which looked like cedar apple rust. At the local nursery, I purchased Fertilome F-stop upon the owner's recommendation. He said that apple trees are susceptible to cedar apple rust but pear trees are not - most likely they had issues due to the heavy rains we had last year. Beyond that, I was confused as to when to spray - he said something about spraying before they blossomed, and then every 3 weeks after that.

My question is for those of you who have sprayed - when do you spray? I am worried about doing something wrong as I am new at this, and don't want to harm the tree. I don't expect them to produce fruit this year, but I still want to spray at the right time.

Thanks!
