I need to find a good mascara
Comments (7)Good old Maybelline Great Lash - (pink & green tube) or if you want/need thicker lashes - Maybelline Volum Express (dk. blue tube). I keep both on hand. I have long lashes, but light in color so I like to use mascara. Have been using them since I started using masacara 30 yrs. ago. I continually see the Maybelline Great Lash recommended as #1 by make up artists, models, etc. Wash off easily with soap and water. No rubbing, no makeup remover. Best part is they both are very reasonably priced. I have at times in the past tried the Lancome, Clinque and other "department store" mascaras when I received them in a gift bonus with purchase of cologne. No other mascara has ever been as dependable and consistent as the standby. Just my $.02....See MoreWhat is in your..

Comments (27)UPDATE: I had it done! Brows and lashes. No irritation. At first the brows seemed a little dark and thick. She didn't just wipe the color on but used a brush and seemed to paint each hair. She also said she put dye in spots where hair was missing. Today I had them sugared and they look really great! Several people said I really look younger. I demand honest opinions from my friends and family so I do believe I look younger, LOL. The lashes look good but it wasn't the dramatic difference I was hoping for. I guess my lashes are not as long as I thought. They do look good with mascara. I'm still getting used to the look as my eyes look different now. On to makeup. Someone I know who is a rep for a makeup line is going to come over and give me and my friend make up tips. We are late 40ish and want to make sure we are keeping current while looking the best for our age. We are very worried about not looking like our daughters (both 18). We see too many women are age dressing like their daughters. I even cut my very long hair when I realized my hair was just like my daughters. I saw a picture of the back of a women and she looked like 16 from the back. Then you looked at the front and she looked 60. I did not want that so while I still have longish hair the style now is more fitting. Even my 84yr old mom, who doesn't wear makeup complains that her friends still wear their makeup the same way they did when they were 20. If this is a midlife crises, I am enjoying every minute! and so is hubby as he has started noticing some of the upgrades, ; )...See MoreMy pet peeve is misleading mascara advertisements
Comments (19)I see those ads on TV for the product that is supposed to make your own eyelashes grow in thicker, longer, and darker (the ones that admit you might have some permanent change in eye color as a result of using the product) and I see the 'after' shots and I wonder why anyone would want to have eyelashes that look that fakey and heavy anyway! I see the same sort of shots of 'after' applying some of the mascaras too! I like pretty eyelashes, I really do, and mascara is the only makeup that I have used throughout my entire lifetime (since my teens). I don't use it all the time, but I do use it and I like the results. But I can't understand why anyone would find some of those 'after' results attractive or appealing or even sexy (as the ads seem to imply)!...See More- 10 years ago
