I need to find a good mascara
Comments (7)Good old Maybelline Great Lash - (pink & green tube) or if you want/need thicker lashes - Maybelline Volum Express (dk. blue tube). I keep both on hand. I have long lashes, but light in color so I like to use mascara. Have been using them since I started using masacara 30 yrs. ago. I continually see the Maybelline Great Lash recommended as #1 by make up artists, models, etc. Wash off easily with soap and water. No rubbing, no makeup remover. Best part is they both are very reasonably priced. I have at times in the past tried the Lancome, Clinque and other "department store" mascaras when I received them in a gift bonus with purchase of cologne. No other mascara has ever been as dependable and consistent as the standby. Just my $.02....See MoreFalse Eyelashes
Comments (7)false eyelashes: get the cluster ones or the individual ones. use tweezers and put a dab of lash glue on your left hand. pick up lashes with tweezers, dip into lash glue on very edge and nestle lashes into your lashline, on your real lashes. continue on from middle to both sides. let it set up, then dip a lash liner brush into dark power liner or shadow and make a think line over the lashes, careful to cover any glue that might be showing. they make an eyelash remover, but you can also use warm water and let them fall off in the shower. definitely don't leave them on overnight (I have and it hurts)....See More"Truth" in advertising
Comments (16)I saw a documentary on truth in advertising Years ago and the advertisers have to tell the truth and the government does enforce it. If a company is advertising chocolate syrup and they show a sundae covered with the syrup, the syrup has to be real, the other ingredients don't have to be. They can use words that can mislead consumers. An example of how smart the companies are is that they will put Nature on herbs and other products and the consumer actually thinks/sees "natural". Kelloggs is being investigated or was for advertising blue berries in their products when there are none. There are purple clumps of sugar in one form or another, that's it. I don't know how that turned out....See MoreMy pet peeve is misleading mascara advertisements
Comments (19)I see those ads on TV for the product that is supposed to make your own eyelashes grow in thicker, longer, and darker (the ones that admit you might have some permanent change in eye color as a result of using the product) and I see the 'after' shots and I wonder why anyone would want to have eyelashes that look that fakey and heavy anyway! I see the same sort of shots of 'after' applying some of the mascaras too! I like pretty eyelashes, I really do, and mascara is the only makeup that I have used throughout my entire lifetime (since my teens). I don't use it all the time, but I do use it and I like the results. But I can't understand why anyone would find some of those 'after' results attractive or appealing or even sexy (as the ads seem to imply)!...See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
