I don't touch up shadows or blush when I'm out. Here are things I've in the bag:

Hey, here's mine - and now I've thought about it, I think it needs some clearing out!!

Max Factor face Finity compact - really naff stuff, I need to look around for something better, this can look very caked on, urgghh!!
Calvin Klein eye pencil in brown - excellent pencil with a smudger on the other end
lipglosses - loads of them! in clear, brown and a pinky one.
MAC spice lipliner
Estee Lauder Illusionist mascara - trial size I got free
Agnes B concealer - for daytime emergencies
Mini bottles of 2 of my favourite fragrances - Lancome Miracle and Gucci Envy
breath freshner drops
tiny 'Take Away' pot of my hair wax - Charles Worthington hair putty

actually, there's nothing in there that I don't use at some time or another!!

and I keep it all in a lovely red leather mulberry purse which I got for less than 25% of the price it should have been in the sales last winter!!

We don't have a master bath - just a rather large hall bath, and I have no doubt that we will have overimproved for the neighborhood. We live in a working class area with a mix of single and multi-family housing. We love the area though and have no plans to leave it. We did splurge on some areas (fixtures mostly) and went super low budget on other areas (tile). What we could have gotten on the $15k for a 100+ sf bath (a huge luxury in this area to begin with) would have been a lot of fiberglass and home depot grade faucets and wasted space. To me it wouldn't have been worth the bother/hassle to end up with crap for $15k. Instead we have a cast iron clawfoot tub, a nice walk in shower and a pair of sinks with granite remnant countertops and a bathroom in a classic style that will last the rest of our lives. For the extra $10k (half the price of a mid-grade car) will have a bathroom that is beautiful, classic, functional and durable. I'd rather share my almost 7 year old honda accord with my husband than have a new car and a cruddy bath.

Azella-I have to contradict your statememt," I don't really believe in a 'natural part'. It's more how we train our hair to grow." If that is true then why do children have a "natural" part in their hair as soon as they get hair? All of my boys and grandsons have natural parts off center on the left side but almost in the middle.DH's hair parts in the same place.Their hair will not part any other way and believe me,I have tried to "train" it to part somewhere else.Even the twins have (and have had since they barely had hair)the same natural part.They all have one place where their hair parts and nothing can change it.It has everything to do with the growth pattern of the hair.I have a cowlick" and so does DH in the front.I have one in the back on the right side.My kids all have cowlicks in the front and back,a very distinctive trait in this family.They all hate it,especially the girls.So I believe the location of the part has nothing to do with "training" the hair but everything to do with the growth pattern and yes,those pesky "cowlicks".How I wish Grandma had kept that cow out of the house! LOL By the way,my part is on the left slightly off center and I can never get it to go any other way!

Our main sub - the guy that is assembling our log house - is handling the scheduling of the subs. He is also the site foreman. DH and I are doing the rest. This arrangement is saving us a bundle of money and we are getting precisely what we want inside the house, etc. We are very clear with our foreman about this; he expects to be on the site every day once our house actually starts going up. He lives about an hour from here - he may decide to live on site - not sure about that. I am giving the subs the name and phone number of the foreman; they know that he is the site boss, although I will be back up if they can't contact him for any reason. It helps that our foreman is a nice guy - we trust him to look out for our interests as we start building. I do think that expectations need to be very clear from the beginning and all along the way.

What is in your drawers under your prep space?

I just moved into my new kitchen. I have a prep area that is nestled at an angle between a large (wide) 4 drawer stack on my left, a corner stack in front of me with 3 drawers and to my right a trash/recycle pullout. All of these are covered by one solid piece of granite so a smooth work surface for any chore. The stack in front of me holds prep tools in top drawer, ms cups, ms spoons, whisks, micro-planer, beaters, garlic press and a variety of spatulas and small specialty utensils. Next drawer down has ms cups large, nested bowls for mixing, hand mixer and potato ricer. Bottom drawer has colanders and gravy separator. Directly to my left I have utensil drawer, then knife drawer, then spice drawer, bottom drawer is baking dishes and casserole dishes, all within reach. To my right is top drawer with baggies, saran wrap, foil, parchement etc. Below that is the double trash/recycle pull out. So far it works great, I can stand in one place and reach everything for prep or serve. Hope this helps.

Q tips for mascara touchups in this hot humid weather
small bottle of vanilla scented body spray-don't remember the brand
I don't use foundation or blush in the summer except for special occasions when I apply it at home, don't carry it with me.
I have been trying to downsize what I carry around but these are my absolute essentials.

the only other makeup I really ever use are watercolor crayons by Crayon D'Arches, they're safe for kid's face-painting projects, and come in amazing yummy, surprisingly opaque colors.

eyeliner....that reminds me of something funny. I used to have a boss that wore black eyeliner, just a narrow line above and below. She often 'refreshed' it using a black rollerball pen! hehehe.
