Comments (4)Thanks for the replies! The transporting in suitcases went OK. about 80 made it between 1.5 and 3 ft in height in 2 large suitcases (with only 4 broken tips and one branch that broke. UPS faired well also for another 40 or so; but I'm afraid those may have gotten cold. Only time will tell I suppose. Jandey, do you know what the first signs of freezing would be? I was able to get the 80 lb box inside within 40 mins of delivery, but have no idea how cold the inside of the truck may have gotten. Especially after reaching the main transport center 24 hours before arrival.... I should have added more insulation. Most of my favorites were in that box.......See MoreCat pees
Comments (9)Does your cat have inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) or do you actually mean that she's been diagnosed with IBS (irritable bowel syndrome)? These are entirely different conditions. How was the condition diagnosed? Did you have an ultrasound, and were biopsies taken for a diagnosis? Prednisolone is an appropriate treatment for IBD in cats. IBD does not always involve diarrhea, sometimes it's just occasional vomiting.... IBS is an entirely different disease than IBD, and presdisolone is not used to treat IBS. IBS would be a diagnosis of exclusion that you could only arrive at after ruling out everything else, including IBD. You need a minimum of two big litter boxes for your cat. Get large sweater boxes or large rubbermaid tubs. Large. Try Dr. Elsey's Cat Attract litter (available on chewy.com, Amazon, etc.). Many cats prefer to defecate and urinate in different boxes. Get a third large sweater box and line it with kennel pads (pee pee pads), to see if she would like that. Many cats who are having inappropriate urination seem to like to use kennel pads to urinate on. You can sprinkle the kennel pads with cat attract sprinkles (different than the cat attract litter). Scoop the boxes twice daily and scrub every couple of weeks with blue dawn (rinse really well). Put the boxes where she would like them, not where it's good for you. Better to have a box in the living room (for example), if she wants it there, vs having her go outside of the box I recommend a product called zero odor (you can get it at bed bath and beyond) to help get rid of the urine odor. It's really important to clean thoroughly and then use something like this to totally get rid of the odor, so she can no longer smell it. Feliway diffusers can help with stress. If your haven't done this yet, I think you need a full bloodwork panel...cbc, serum chemistry, T4, urinalysis, and a urine culture. I'd revisit her diet and try to get her back onto the royal canin canned rabbit. Your veterinarian should be able to give suggestions to do this. They can prescribe an appetite stimulant (mirtazapine) to help her appetite and to help her transition to the new food. I'd minimize stress and changes in the home, keep all laundry and suitcases, etc. (targets) picked up, make sure she's got plenty of cat towers (cats like to be up high), beds and hiding places. You don't need a feline specialist or a cat only clinic. You just need a veterinarian who is into cats and feline medicine....See MoreRain coat recommendations
Comments (13)Ravencajun, thanks for mentioning Free Country. I didn't find a raincoat but did find a new winter coat for me and my daughter at almost half price! 40% off right now if anyone needs a new coat. My old one is a $20 Walmart one that is starting to wear out, threads coming off everywhere, it did last and kept me warm for such a cheap coat, though. I will look at some of the other sites mentioned, currently have an Eddie Bauer rain jacket pulled up that looks good but wondering if it will be too warm as it's lined on top inner portion in fleece. Thanks....See MoreRecommended Shampoo Bars?
Comments (8)J.R. Liggetts Shampoo Bar and also Conditioner Bar. I highly recommend. I have been using them for a few years. You can get them on Amazon. I buy the shampoo at a local health food store, but she never carries the conditioner. I think the directions say to rub the bars between your hands and then your hair, but I think it uses too much. I just take the bar around my head once, and that gives me plenty. They last a long time and are so convenient for travel - and no plastic bottles in the trash. https://www.amazon.com/J-R-Liggett-Shampoo-Original-Formula/dp/B00016X68Q...See Morejojoco
