What do you think of these roses I'm considering trying...?
Comments (28)Thanks zack, good idea, I wanted to get to that Rhode Island rose garden last summer but didnâÂÂt make it. I have done that buying a rose at the end of the season that looked good. ThatâÂÂs how I got my âÂÂGolden CelebrationâÂÂ. yorkrose, isnâÂÂt that interesting about the New Dawn. I can live with that, if it looks good the rest of the season. I wonder what it is spotting with, do you happen to know? mad gallica, I wish I lived closer and IâÂÂd happily be dragged! :-) You must have a GOR-geous rose garden! You are right about seeing them in person. I donâÂÂt get a chance to do that often at all. When I was growing up, we summered along the Massachusetts coast and I remember a house we visited often that had roses in the garden and I can still remember the pleasure I had from the fragrance and how beautiful they were. ItâÂÂs amazing how long an experience can stay with you and roses are one of those things that can do that. Well, if IâÂÂm ever planning a trip to New York, donâÂÂt be surprised to get an email requesting a tour. :-) I just looked up the Karl Forster on HelpMeFind. What a pretty white rose! I am surprised to see it was bred by Kordes in 1930. I always like to see the description âÂÂvery vigorousâ too. Thanks for that suggestion. IâÂÂll have to take a photo of the foliage on the New Dawn and post it, tomorrow....See MoreWhat do you think of 2x4 back splash tile?
Comments (15)The red diamonds in my backsplash are glass and I really like the effect. The other tiles are a bit off-white, and I think they match the cabs, I've never noticed. lol I have orb for some of the hardwared, and ruby colored pulls and knobs on the hutch which is in the kitchen. I also have an orb faucet whith white sink. White appliances. The appliances are whiter than the cabs, but its not noticeable. As far as the granite. That's a hard one to answer. Take every single thing off the countertop and I love my granite. But that color of granite is so hard to accesorize with it's driving me crazy! However, I recently discovered pale yellow, white, and light vintage green looks wonderful on the granite. My walls are a very pale yellow. Black accessories are good too, but I want more pastels in my kitchen. It only took me three years to figure out that pastels really look best with the granite and white cabs!...See MoreWhat do you think of a back-up offer in this situation?
Comments (11)If they were in different offices and different companies, I would agree with the posters here, but in this case, I actually dont agree with anyone here that says to fire the agent. They are in the same office, they are co workers and friends. THe listing agent knows his "co worker" has an interested party. Ideally, everyone wants the house to be an in house sale. He probably doesnt think its necessary to write it all up because he knows if the deal falls thru, your offer is next in line to be negotiated. Look at it this way, negotiating an offer right now when the sellers already have an offer on the table only means you have to be as good or better than their offer.(why would they accept anything less as a backup) If their deal falls thru, you actually have more negotiating power because they have "NO" offer on the table. Writing the offer is just a formality, I wouldnt worry about it. Do you really think reporting him to a local real estate commission is going to work in your favor? Trust me, if you do that, and the deal falls thru, the listing agent wont want to be in a transaction with you either....See MoreWhat do you think of these paint colours for my kitchen and main floor
Comments (15)Hi benjesbride! :) You've been so fantastic supporting me throughout this process. I'm so sorry, I haven't been very good with sharing updates and photos. :( We've had lots of late nights doing parts of the demo, taping up poly walls, cleaning up dust, and researching to make decisions on materials, etc. I wish I had more time to share the progress more often. It's been so exciting to see all the changes! A quick update before I go back downstairs to move boxes of hardwood (ugh!): The demo is done!! The half wall that was cutting off the new dining room is gone (turns out it wasn't load bearing - phew!) and the framing for our new double pocket doors is done (I've never loved a hole in the wall more than this beautiful hole!) The electrical is also done (super excited to see my space with new warm LED lighting and be forever rid of my old fluorescent light box!!) and the drywalling is nearly done. Now we get to start seeing some of the "pretty stuff"! ;) I've got my gorgeous Kohler Strive sink and Kohler Artifacts faucet in the house, ready to be installed. And the Thunder test patches have looked great in the evening, morning light and indoor lighting so far. Yay!!...See MoreCandace Stevens
