My First 2012 Order Has Arrived!!!
Comments (6)I have a small greenhouse that I'll keep the 1 gallons in until spring (the ones that you can buy at Lowe's for under $100). The 5g is under my deck inside my pot ghetto with the rest of my out of zone roses. I've added quite a few potted roses this year, and this is the first time I'm overwintering under the deck (the deck is elevated about 5 feet off the ground), then I have the whole thing surrounded by chicken wire and loosly covered with burlap...by suggestion of some other posters :) Plus, I'm on the 7a line, so that helps I'm sure. ~Tammy...See MoreFirst order arrived today :-)
Comments (5)LOL...Cindy, I think it's a smell that only a gardener could love...very earthy. I also like the smell of well rotted compost...or freshly tilled earth...but I don't imagine they'll be using it for perfume anytime soon. :-) Julia...congrats and enjoy. We'll be looking forward to seeing them bloom. Kathy...See MoreFirst order arrived today
Comments (8)Hopefully our weather breaks here so I can get them planted. Not cold, but we are getting rain on and off, temps are rising but now the ground is too wet to plant and looks to be this way for the rest of the week. We heard thunder last night and sounds like I hear thunder again in the distance. Must be a storm coming. I'm not complaining. I'd rather have rain than snow or sleet. Comments (14)Well, the only garden thing I did today was plant daylilies. Got a late start today in the garden because I had to work this morning and I just finished watering the planted daylilies and dragged myself in now afew minutes ago. Haven't even had dinner yet. I got the rest of my plants from Mike Huben planted plus almost all my order from Melanies North Country Daylilies. I have four more to do tomorrow but otherwise that order from Melanie of 31 daylilies (including some from Brian Culver in Canada) is all planted. I want to get them planted tomorrow plus my roses and sedum so I can drag out my tomato cages and set up my tomato rows in my veggie garden. I have got to get that done and should plant those tomatoes as this Monday I have daylily orders being shipped from Karol Emmerich, Don Herr and Phil Korth. So by Wednesday I could well have more Daylilies to plant and I certainly will by the end of the week. Trying to get everything done in what seems like all at once to me....See More
