While I wait....
Comments (11)Julie, congrats that your son is healing. My son went through a hip replacement thanks to a motorcycle accident, and then broke a leg. He has to carry his x rays when he takes a plane. I haven't been to a movie in years. I can't imagine sitting there, stuck with nothing to do. We just came back from rural Peru where we went into many homes because my husband was analyzing them for toxic mercury. I was the videographer. These ladies keep house on dirt floors, the kitchen stove is fire where the kindling is scarce. We weren't in the forest, we were in the mountains which are arid. Water is scarce, except for the months where it is pouring. They tended sheep and llamas, and while waiting for anything they crocheted or knitted. They hung the laundry in sheds or outdoors if its not raining. Even our hotel hung out the sheets. I will never complain about doing housework without thinking of them. The kids looked neat and clean, and if you didn't go inside the houses you would never know they had dirt floors. They had ladders to go to the 2nd floor and I bumped my head on the little doorways constantly. They did have little t.v. sets and maybe one lightbulb in each room, some people had computers. No running water mostly. Sewers and running water are hard to do in mountains. The people were cordial, proud of their homes. They made the furniture....See MoreWhile i'm waiting for my granite...
Comments (4)I love it too!!! There is a smaller coordinating pendant and the semi flush is nice too. The size seems fine to me for two over a 4' island. I was all set to order from that collection and then they brought the island and I thought the styles clashed too much. I know it's good to mix it up a bit, but i wasn't sure if it would be taking it too far??? Does the style look ok with the island?? I know I'm probably thinking too much, but that's why we're here, right???? TKO!!! Here is a link that might be useful: Other lights in the collection...See Morestress while waiting for settlement
Comments (5)We bought our new place and closed on it 2 weeks before our previous home sold. It was very stressful because although we were approved for the mortgage even with the existing one, it would have been a serious financial strain to have to pay both mortgages overlapping. I kept myself distracted with the plans and purchases for renovating the new home - which was all DIY - had to pick flooring and paint colors etc. I had it all planned out so I could get the flooring and painting done in less than 2 weeks... we had ended up renting a temporary furnished apartment for 1 month and put our stuff in storage. So I had to have the new place move in ready after 2 weeks - which I did! You will get through it, and transactions rarely fall apart this late in the game....See MoreI have to wait a while longer to see if I still have a brain
Comments (16)YOU HAD A BRAIN??? dang...I thought to be a member of the KT we all had to admit that we're over the hill and at least half brainless...so please don't tell me now you've fooled us all along and you HAVE A BRAIN!! Awww Kat...it's ok...claustrophobia is real and there's nothing to be ashamed of...yes you may think it's silly considering all you've gone thru in the last year...but you're still my hero cause I could never have done what you have and just so you'll know who's making all the racket I'm sneaking into your house after while to see how you look in a mohawk!! You know you should never have told us this...now I'm gonna be callin you "MO" from now on out!! I hope you get it rescheduled soon...but we all know that you're gonna get that clean bill of health!!...See Morepatty Vinson
