Now You See It . . . Now You Don't

Now you see it . . .
Now you don't . . .

I posted this image the other day, and a friend suggested that I could "lose the electric pole."

As used to it as I am, I have to agree that the pole is hardly an
esthetic addition to the garden. So -- in honor of April Fool's Day -- I
"lost the pole."

Our neighbors would also prefer not to go without.

Yes, but aesthetic considerations should trump everything, and that second picture looks so great. You know they used to have gas lamps.....

Yup, I've got just such a pole and it's funny how I don't see it anymore. The old eucalyptus hid it very neatly for 30 years but dad cut it down after the kids sitting on the curb across the street said they were enjoying the fireworks. The wind was making sparks with the tree in the lines. Show over.

That is one of the prettiest photos I have seen of the blossom form and color.

Thank you, Mudpie. I have endless numbers of photos of this rose, because .... it is probably my favorite rose, hands-down, and . . . It is endlessly changeable.

To say one rose is your favorite, that must be one exceptional rose . If I were a bug I'd head straight for that real estate with a view.
