Question for the Jade Pros
Comments (8)Neem oil is made of Chry I can't spell this oil. If is safe to use and will not harm you or orhter plants. Spider mites leave very small fine webs. At the Huntington that is the only thing we are allowed to use. You can water them down to control them with a strong spray of water. I don't even try to get rid of them if they eat mealies and other instects, then they pay their way to live. See what you can find about what they eat. I'm going to try and do so as well. The eat leaves, just looked it up, Wash off with water, especially under the leaves, I used neem oil . yes it is safe if you peel the lemons. Make sure and go to the local ma and pop nursery. Take all of your indoor plants out side, and spray them down. You don't seem to have that many. There is an advantage, perhaps birds will help you out and clean them up. The coled winter may help you out as well. I never even bother with mine on my citrus trees which are four old ones, they have a heavey crop each year. You may want to try Bayer's product insectcidal feed product, that way you can control what gets the product..You Pencil plant is poisenoue, don't get white sap on your hands wash it off with oil, and soap. Don't have where kids can touch it. It is dangerous, do it have it where pets may want to play or eat it dogs especially dumb, a cat will not eat it. I missed your message about '[Jade' plants. Where is the "Jade' question?...See MoreAre you a pro on your iPad?
Comments (31)cathrugg--my DH is in IT as well. He helped to some degree with set-up, but not all that much. Not only doesn't/hasn't he used Apple devices, he has been super, super busy lately, so I've been figuring out a lot of this on my own (some trial and error, some via internet queries and searches). I might have email set to manual already, have to check. My Push notifications might be on though, so that might override the ability to set email settings? Brightness set to auto, I believe (automatically dims in lower light situations). Have to check maps setting. I have iPad locator "on", but I think my other locator settings are off. Running down the battery, and then fully charging it (leaving it on the charger an add'l 20-30 min past reaching 100%), helped a great deal. Now if it's 100% when I go to bed, it's either still 100% when I get up, or it's only down 1% or 2%. It also stopped dropping by 10% or more by the afternoon when it's sitting unused all day. Made a big difference. I'll take a look at the things you mentioned and report back! I really am enjoying mine. Would love to have the 4G of the newly unveiled iPad (I'm spoiled with the speed of our home Wi-Fi, so using my iPad on 3G when I have to, does seem a little slow to me at times). When I get a 4G phone and use that as my "hot spot" though, it shouldn't really matter. Not sure how much diff the A5X chip/quad core processor will make vs the A5 chip in the iPad 2, though the demo at the big unveiling yesterday supposedly showed a big diff in speed. Would love to compare the screen resolutions (iPad 2 vs new iPad) side-by-side, to see how visible the difference really is to my eyes. Would not be happy with the increase in weight and thickness, so all in all, I don't feel too bad about getting an iPad 2 instead of waiting for the new one. Mine's 32 GB, which won't be available in the iPad 2 with the release of the new one, so I guess mine will be a collector's item soon! LOL...See MoreiPad Pro Keyboard Review
Comments (10)Oh gosh, I hope keyboards don't disappear! I love my iPad but if I'm going to be typing much, I head to my computer instead as I prefer typing on a keyboard. I've had two wireless keyboards for my iPad but neither last long so I wasn't going to sink money into another one. Typing short responses on my iPad is fine, but I prefer using my iMac for anything more than a few sentences. One thing I've never been able to figure out on my iPad touch screen is how to force a hard return. Like if I'm posting on FB and want to make a new paragraph, I can't do it on my iPad with the touchscreen. Anyone know if there is a trick I'm missing or some sort of keyboard shortcut to make a hard return in FB? I can't remember if it happens on Gardenweb (I'm on my iMac at the moment so can't test), but I know for sure it happens in FB on my iPad....See MoreiPad vs iPad
Comments (30)Oh yeah, if I lived closer to the Apple store, I'd already have one.. and a MacBook air! (Though I am not a fan of the PC store.. OK, so the things that start sucking up space are Movies (HD especially), photos/videos, and certain video intensive games. Other files take up space but text files are pretty darn small. Maybe I sound like a cheapskate, but I can buy (and have) a 1 Terabyte passport for less than the price diff between the 64GB ipad air 2 and the 128GB. Given the low cost of storage, the price diff between the models is ridiculous. I am a very casual gamer. I am not recording music with Garage Band or any of the other music composition apps. Other than scrabble, I might play 1-2 games a year. I won't use the camera extensively and when I do, I won't store photos on the ipad. I think the 64GB will be fine. I actually think the 16GB will be fine but I'll go 64. :) Thanks so much everyone!!...See MoreHolly- Kay
