Comments (16)Gardenbug....yes, I was thinking maybe it might be an issue with moisture for the Camassia for me, I have dry shade and part sun mostly. Epimediums are the best performer in dry shade that I have. Indestructible, but mostly neat foliage all summer after spring bloom. I just bought three new ones from Darrell Probst last year too. I also have to shop the lower priced varieties. [g] The only Primulas I have were winter sown a couple of years ago and they are the candelabra type. I don't think they enjoy dry either, but I keep trying to find one that will put up with it. :-) Aha!! Purple Prince and it is blooming for you and mine is just showing a few stems with the beginning of a leaf. It was small when I put it in last fall and it was under a leaf mulch too long maybe. Wow, that is really pretty, I am looking forward to mine next year...lol. Love that color pink tulip and never saw a variegated astrantia. Not putting that in, if it attracts groundhogs! [g] Pretty blues... What is growing with the muscari? Great photos! I imagine you have something new blooming every day. Thanks for the new photos. :-) pm2...See MoreA few things were still in bloom...
Comments (14)Thanks Eric, it is his best year ever--they used to confuse him with American Beauty. My rule for lavendar is just ignor it, seems to work, let it live off the rose drippings. Thanks. bodica--if you were to remove all the buds 6 weeks before your party, you would have a pretty nice bloom unless they were once bloomers....there went your once. Pam I really missed you, I think the roses did too.I'm going to have to plan better next year. Thank you George, the roses asked where you were, not to insult my other guests but a couple of roses started to whine that they didn't feel much like blooming if George and Pam weren't there. I had to shake my pruners at them, some of the ogrs have positively medieval manners! la...See MoreGot a few things blooming..

Comments (14)Bossy, I Still haven't cleaned up 8 trees from a mini tornado a couple of years ago. I have killed some similar to those bromeliads by leaving them out years ago in the bad freeze in 2010.I think it got to 13 . I moved it close under the eves. Not enough . Second might , I moved it in but the shop got under freezing too. I just got these as a replacement from Blue Girl a couple of years ago after years of looking for them. The ones that I killed have even broader leaves and longer blossoms. I just visited a old girlfriend that I gave some to before I killed mine. I had forgotten that I had given her some. She lives in Houston off of the Katy freeway just outside the inner loop. She puts hers under the eves and they have made it. She repotted and saved me some. They were given to me as 'Queens Tears'. Maybe 'Queens Tears Gone To Heaven'....See Moreloreleicomal
