Just had 6 trees removed and stumps grinded...

I have a 4000 sqft backyard with soil on the perimeter of the three sides and grass in the middle. Now there are mountains of wood chips all over the soil on the perimeter. I plan to extend the grass area out but not completely but I don't need such a large soil area anymore since i don't plan to put up large trees, just small trees and plants.

Any ideas on what to do with all those wood chips? I can either removed them completely or leave some around. Do I need to remove them completely to seed grass? Can i leave some around to plant trees/shrubs/plants?

Thanks.
