Kohler BubbleMassage vs. Bain Ultra
Comments (53)The fact is laws of physics cannot be changed, and when you blow hot air into water it will cool it down no matter what brand of tub it is. Now Bain Ultra was the original air tub, their service is top notch, their parts and materials are top notch, and their design has only the bather in mind. Kohler is not a bad alternative, but all things being equal Bain Ultra all the way. Hope this helps....See MoreHairline cracks in Kohler cast iron kitchen sink
Comments (71)I noticed a crack in the front corner of our (less than) 6 month Kohler Whitehaven sink. Immediately a pit in my stomach! This sink was installed on 11/14/22. We spent a pretty penny remodeling our very dated kitchen and are thrilled with how it looks. We contacted Kohler whowhichwhowhowhichwho said they will replace sink. We are waiting to talk to someone about cost associated with reinstalling a new sink to replace a defective sink. Ours is undermount and don't feel as though we should be on the hook for this expense. Anxious to hear back from Kohler. If their product wasn't defective we wouldn't be needing to discuss cost associated with this repair....See MoreBathtub valve stems removal
Comments (14)Not wanting to lead you fartur out on the ice but here's a couple of tips for dealing with tile hack jobs. Tile setters use nippers to cut curved openings and some don't do a neat job. I use a carbide grit hole saw to score tile so that a defined hole can be chipped in tile tile. Related to your mentioning "repair plate",here's how I handled a few similar to yours. Where matching tile wasn't availabe I retiled behind fixture with harmonizing color in a semetrical pattern. If fixture pretrude's far enough ,decorative tile or ceramic madalions can be adheared over existing tile with holes cut through both. In the latter case scratch glazed surface with wet-dry paper and use thinset with additive to get a bond. If you wind up useing a chrome plate, caulk only from 12 oclock to 9&3,leave lower edge of plate uncaulked in case stem leaks water can escape. Best of luck to you. If it helps,I to would rather "invite" people to work around my place but like you I continue doing it myself to assure it's not messed up....See MoreNew bath
Comments (3)Does it have to be set in mortar? Check your installation instructions. Tub manufacturers can't seem to agree on the best ways. Some are recommended to be set in construction adhesive. My jetted tub was not to be set at all but had to permanently rest on sound-deadening pads....See MoreKohler
