More old and "rare" Laundry finds this morning!!
Comments (32)I hate that the mexican grocery store that has all the good deals on Ariel and downy is so far from my house. I can't just pop in there on a weekly basis to see what is on sale, and usually their detergents are not in the online sales ad. I have found Downy for $1.88 for a good size bottle and my mexican Ariel with the customs sticker on it is in plentiful stock. I guess I will have to find an excuse to get back over to the other side of town sometime this weekend just for a look....See MoreSoftener suggestions please!
Comments (121)@izeve - could not agree more. And there's not a lot of options. Plus I only use it on towels so I want to find one. @pinky - To clarify: Miele and Ecover are both thin and don't gunk up the dispenser. That's a plus. Neither smell great in the bottle = negative. But both do a good softening job technically, which means my towels feel soft but not flabby = plus. But there is no residual scent whatsoever from either of those = negative. So I just spritzed the towels with my linen water which added a scent I like. The Caldrea Sea Salt Neroli is perfect for towels. Problem solved. I only use softener for my towels. Don't use it for sheets as it's never needed. Those are currently getting washed with the Le Blanc, get dampened with linen water then ironed. Got that down. One thing I have noticed that's interesting. When I bought the new towels I got two kinds. One are the flat turkish waffle weave. They are very lightweight, soft and absorbent. DH, who is never enthusiastic about anything told me yesterday he "loved" them and thought they were "fantastic." Could have picked me up off the floor. So naturally I thought I would get him some larger ones since the ones he likes are hand towel size. Those don't need softener. It's weird. There are 9000 sources for turkish towels on etsy alone!...See MoreGain Original Fabric Softener
Comments (7)and YES MamaP, I've notice Downy unscented kills, or as you say it nicer neutralizes other scents. See my first reply to Sandy, LOL ;) I even say I add extra Tide 'he' powder when I use unscented Downy, because I try and get as much Tide Original classic scent as possible. I've found mixing Downy unscented with a hair of Downy AF when using my beloved Tide powder works best!...See MoreTide w a touch of downy clean breeze POWDER!
Comments (12)Mami your machine probably is perfect for the boil out. It took me some playing around but I generally get excellent results with most detergents I use now..all it took was turning my dial for a longer wash period and a little pixie dust. The only detergent that really doesn't work for me is Cascade Complete powder, I always get kibbles with it. Have you tried the Dropps? They do have phosphates and for me at least work amazingly good, I'd go as far as saying as good as the boil out but cheaper lol.Let me know if you've tried the Dropps....See Moremamapinky0
