Hi Gene and Gorgi, Gene, I don't know if it is a mutation of Burjassotte. I have read several french books and nobody suggest this possibility, but it could be so, why not! Barbentane is from unknown origin. The leaves are in both cases big but they differer in the number of "fingers", Burjassotte tends to have five and Barbentane to have three. The tree form in Burjassotte is less upright than Barbentane. Here you can see the leaves and the fig inside (from Pierre Baud book "Figues"):

Wow, that's quite a list! I have 18 varieties of figs, and not a one you are looking for. I would suggest you try Figs 4 Fun and UC Davis and see what they have for you....

I don't have Martin's two varieties either, but I'm not so much a collector as a "I LOVE to eat good juicy figs!!" All of mine are in ground, and I add some new ones now and then. I like the shade those trees provide. Weeds don't much like shade!

I think I would over winter them inside a garage, if I were you. I have a number of similar sized plants, and that's where they're going, You're always a few degrees colder than me (Columbia, SC)
