Is it too early in the season to post garden pics?
Comments (72)Thanks! Stuffradio, the Pac Choi is actually Fordhook Giant Chard. :) I love the galvanized tubs as well loribee! IMO they cant be beat for the price. They should last a long, long, time. Hopefully my lettuce doesn't bolt in the heat we are expecting this week! I have misters set up to try to keep them cool!...See MorePlant growth behind this season
Comments (16)Riala: Same here. Went from miserable cold wet rain, then BOOM, it's 92. Brugs were all so upset about being put out in the cold wet. Baaaaaaad, baaaaaaaaad. Lots of new leaves now (as they would, because those were inside leaves) But boy, I needed to get them outside and get the big boys watered hard. But now it's in the 90s, and when I'm counting on some rain, we keep getting passed. Oh sure, lose power, tornado threats, but lots of rain? Nada. Goofy, goofy year. As someone else said, maybe we'll get a longer summer this year, and the plants can enjoy longer. (And catch up on the growth and bloom time they missed.)...See Moreearly growth!
Comments (3)This year it does seem to be warming up over a month earlier than it did last year and with the increasing daylight, it will only continue getting steadily warmer as it does look like we have an early spring. Some of my tree peony seeds which were not planted as deep as they should have been are starting to emerge already, and buds on both herbeceous and tree peony species are starting to show swelling so I'll assume it might be happening everywhere else too. At this rate, I will probably have many seedlings with leaves well formed already by the beginning of March. Here is a link that might be useful: Sprouting tree peony seedling...See MoreEarly season pics
