The volunteers at the Botanical Garden have been busy growing up new cuttings
and refreshing stock carried over from last year, preparatory to the first plant
sale of 2016. The 5-day sale will take place during spring break, Monday Mar. 14
through Friday, Mar. 18, 2016 from 10am to 2pm each day. (Garden members will be
admitted at 9am for early bird shopping.)

Continuing our move
toward emphasizing native and low-water use plants, we will have several hundred
varieties to choose from. Three featured plants are unusual and not easily found
around town: namibian sage (salvia namaensis), a
small-leaved, shade tolerant plant with small blue flowers; queen's tears (Bilbergia nutans), a
terrestrial bromeliad that grows well in dry shade and has striking flowers; and
drunkard's dream (Hatiora salicornioides), an unusual looking water-saving
epiphyte from Brazil that performs well in hanging baskets and in soil.

All gallon pots are $8,
with members receiving a 10% discount on all purchases.
