This what an Ebony Slate or a Cloak Gray could look like. I like it. I find this very attractive; even with the current color for the trim. Thoughts? As far as fading, you need to ask about the color you choose. Organic fades faster than inorganic pigment. Exposure matters as well, full exposure will obviously fade faster than shaded. Dark colors require more maintenance and are harder to touch up than lighter colors. A dark color enmass for an exterior is a commitment whether it's organic or inorganic pigment - no two ways about it. But it can be well worth it. Be sure to ask about lightfastness and UV rating. To make things easier, you can look into selecting a color from a manufacturers palette that is specifically flagged "exterior". Buy the very best grade of paint you can afford.

Hey Lisa, Grizzle Gray has some warm green undertones, which is a good thing based on the decision to keep your warm toned trim throughout the house. Since I wanted to find something in the same realm, I came up with the options, all with warm undertones and lighter than Grizzle Grey to give you a nice contrast. First is Gray Clouds, second is Reflection, and third is Olympus White. And I would choose between either Reflection or Olympus White, not both. These are all Sherwin Williams paints so they should be of the same quality as Grizzle Gray. Also, I think adding a wallpaper in the dining room could be fun and interesting and they have tons of beautiful removable wallpapers or temporary wallpapers on the market these days. When it comes to transition areas, it's often a good idea to go with a neutral as they are more versatile. Transitional areas like entryway/hallways can have SO many colours going off of them, and choosing a 'colour' for this area, can limit you in other rooms. Eld, how sunny are the rooms you're going to paint? The size, shape, and light will make a big difference. We painted the bedrooms cream and at night one of the walls looks pink. Our LR was super bright and we chose SW Bagel. I like it but it changes colors, because of nooks and crannies and dark wood floors. Oh, if you have wooden shutters, subtract some light from them unless you can open them up. While looking up Bagel I found the back of our LR on Pinterest. Bagel Had I known about all the color changes I would have gone with a lighter color, but it works. I love K's color! I also used Amy and she was very helpful. Same area at night but we don't leave that lamp on all the time. Daytime with my back to the back of room. Big color change.
