One Drive and One note.

I'm totally confused with one drive and one note. Can anyone tell me the difference? I need to move photos to one drive, apparently, in order to upload them to facebook. There are no places to put photos, it only lists documents. I also can't find a place to delete 2 documents that only contain dates. TIA

Does clicking "Add Photos/Video" or "Create Photo Album" at the top of your feed

not give you what you need?

I'm not saying you shouldn't upload your photos to OneDrive. It may be a good place to keep an extra copy of your photos as part of your backup plan.

But it doesn't seem necessary to involve OneDrive when posting photos on Facebook.

We have a greenhouse and garden center right next door to our complex. This company also does our snow plowing and lawn maintenance. Gosh I wish liked those people, but I don't, and frankly they don't like me very much either. I hope to someday eliminate our need for their annuals and cut down on our need for their mowing considerably. I would also like to teach them the difference between shrubs and bushes. Why does everything have to be square?? Have any of you ever seen a square Rose of Sharon or square Lilac bush? Perhaps they could stand to learn a little but about when to start whackin' at 'em too! God help the landscraper who happens to take a whack my Rose of Sharon... Besides learning a lesson on patience for uneducated "landscrapers", I also need to learn more about guerrilla gardening. I had some planned out, but some of you are really, really good at it!

a friend of mine gave me a bunch of crinum lilies. i took what i wanted and there are still a bunch left. i'm not sure what color they are but they have bloom spikes on them that should open soon OR i'll call my friend and find out what color they are. Lori...did you say you wanted some crinums?

I've used it forever. Would truly miss it if they ever did away with it. Keep about 7gb online of seldom needed files and only about 100mb on my computer of files I might use frequently. Saves some hard drive bytes, makes scans a little faster. Any cloud files I would want I just select that folder to sync and I have it.. or just download it from the OneDrive cloud. I install windows fresh way more than most people would dream about on my laptop .. probably 50 times or more in past year trying new windows 10 builds have installed windows 10 fresh & as upgrades and repair installs - couple times a bad windows version or moment of brain dead screw up and onedrive has saved me .. OneDrive can make it really simple to install fresh, it saves your basic settings/configurations and passwords and desktop graphics, favorites for ie and edge, and not loose any files without even thinking ..much. If you mistakenly delete a file in your computers onedrive tree and empty the recycle bin.. you can go to OneDrive and get it from its recycle bin :) I've used that 2 or 3 times per year. One drive makes it really simple to access those files from anybody's computer or anyway you can get online .. you can even set it to access your complete computer files and drives remotely for things not stored in the cloud.

The start SEEING motorcycles bumper stickers annoy me. I think motorcyclists need to quit challenging a 1-2 ton vehicle thinking right-of-way acts like the shields on the starship Enterprise. Yes, car/truck drivers need to watch for bikes but it's usually a 2-way street. Watch for cars too. A friend of mine is in the hospital. He decided to go to the cemetery and visit his wife's grave. Decided to ride his bike and traffic was heavy. To shorten a long story how can anyone claim they didn't know they hit someone when the person flies up over the hood (bike included), down the side of the SUV or crossover, whatever it was, yelling and pounding on the side as they're being dragged down the road and get trapped them under the vehicle? Seriously? You didn't know you hit them when they're pounding on the vehicle to stop and witnesses are yelling at her to stop? "Splain that one to me, Lucy!" I suppose she didn't want to stop because she "didn't want to get "involved" or was afraid someone might pull a gun! Sheesh (And for those wondering, he has at least 4 broken ribs, broken collarbone, a couple other broken bones and some internal injuries. He called me after he got out of ICU. Seemed strange that he didn't return my call offering firewood. Now I know why.) But then there's another friend who was driving his Chev Impala and was at a stop sign when 40+ foot motorhome made a left turn and the driver claimed she didn't know she was driving over the car. Said it was the first time she ever drove the motorhome. Hopefully, it's her last time I maintain motorhomes and any 4wd should require a special driving test. I also maintain there should be an intelligence test to drive.

To delete a document in One Drive is pretty much like anything else. Open the Document folder>Right click on the target document>Select delete from the appearing drop down menu.

As to where to store photos in One Drive, I created a new folder naming it Photos, and then just uploaded the target photo(s) there.

One Drive is an over-the-internet, centralized server-based storage. The initial free tranche - 5 GB, is pretty small and not all that useful in my opinion. Someone on one vacation trip taking a moderate amount of photos of what's now normal quality (5-10 megs each) would exceed that amount easily.

The lowest paid tranche is 100 GB at $7/month, which is very expensive compared to the alternatives. For example, one could buy two 64GB SD cards for $40 or less, that would give 128 GB of storage. Or a hard drive, 500 GB (5 times as much) for $50 or so.

It's true that One Drive does provide a sync and access between devices but I personally don't think that's of much value. Removing photos from a camera and moving or copying them from one storage location or device to another is simple and something everyone needs to know how to do.

One Note is a note taking program that's integrated with OneDrive for online storage and manipulation.

Thanks Snidely, for your concise and understandable explanation. Thanks, DA for your help also, was able to delete the pages. Chugger, the reason I thought I needed to use cloud was because I can't get photos to upload from my fb. page. I'm new to all this. Not a clue what I'm doing. And it seems mostly pointless. The photo and facebook thing. I just learned today how to remove posts from people I don't know. I can't find one person who I know is in my email, on facebook. How odd.

I'm using M$ photo gallery, it says I have to log in? Is that the problem with uploads?

Many routers have a usb port or two that can be storage space in your home cloud. Think I paid $25 for 128gb medium speed usb drives at amazon .. SanDisk Ultra Fit usb3, the little ones that hardly stick out.
