Growing Cut Flowers for a Wedding in October -- in Vermont!
Comments (1)Start the dahlias from tubers, for best results, please buy them from a reputable source. Plant them when the soil has reached 60 degrees. (yah, I actually take the soil temp, otherwise there is too much chance of rotting). Choose a cultivar that is notated for cutting. Here is a link that might be useful: The Big List...See MoreSon's Wedding
Comments (3)Brian will be there for sure! I know that without a doubt. He will be happy for Danny and want you to focus on Danny's special day and to know that he is with all of you in spirit. When a good friend of mine's son got married recently, she had the same feelings as you do. Her other son was murdered and she didn't know how in the world she would get through the wedding, reception etc. Her son and his bride had candles on the alter with pictures of her son and his father who was also deceased. When my friend and her son were lighting her son's candle, a HUGE thunder bolt rattled the entire church. It happened the second that the fire hit the candle wick. EVERYONE in the church knew that it was Cory letting them know that he was present. I agree with Susan as far as making sure that Danny knows how very happy that you are for him and his bride. Good luck! Lu...See MoreCrochet Skirt or Dress pattern for son's wedding??
Comments (18)I want to cover some wire hangers with yarn to create a nice padded hanger. Most of the patterns make the piece first, and then sew it on to the hanger. Lion Brand has a free pattern for "Plush Hanger Cover- Chenille Thick & Quick Homespun", which is crochered directly on the hanger itself.( I Googled it to get the directions ) It simply says to "single crochet around the entire hanger...." It doesn't, however, tell you how to start, and I cannot figure out how to attach the yarn to the hanger to begin,or how to include the hanger in the crocheting as I go along! It must be so obvious to them, but not to me! Does anyone understand how to do this?...See MoreMy son's barn wedding
Comments (27)Sherry, The barn is in Watervliet Michigan. A couple from Chicago bought two old barns and renovated them into wedding barns. They have one called the "Blue Dress Barn" but I don't know the name of this one. You can see them on the internet. Millcreek Barns is the name so I think it's probably millcreekbarns.com if anyone wants to take a peek. In an earlier post I said that their Boston Terrier was in the wedding. Our oldest grand daughter walked her down the isle. She had an orange flower on her collar. I didn't get a picture nor did the photographer. She couldn't get it focused because Tenna was jumping around so much after she saw my son at the end of the isle. LOL I hope someone got a picture and if so I will post. She is their baby, at least until they have babies!!...See MoreCV Patton
