Comments (12)Thanks for the great comments! I really didn't think I was going to like Miami Heat, but then it started to bloom! Now, I had to put it way far away from all other daylilies, so it would look good, and no clashing! Julia - I have no idea about the spots, just thought they looked like freckles and were cool. John, NO, geesh... I am waiting for those seedling to bloom! They are all busy putting on new fans, and no blooms... grrr... guess that is good though. I'll post photos when they do, I am so ready! I don't bother to disable the right click, because of screen capture. The watermarks are there so poachers know I don't want them used for them to make money off my work. If all the photos I post are originally watermarked and copywrighted, then I have a case, if I ever needed to go that route - in fact, if they go so far as to remove the watermark and use it anyway, more evidence for me. I don't mind people using them for personal use, but once you make money off my picture, some of that $ is mine! (via IPR - Intellectual Property Rights) :o) Nothing is ever safe from the serious bad guys... hence attorneys - ack....See MoreI'm so sick of winter I could scream!!
Comments (6)Well, the snow storm is over with, for now. They're saying we might get more tonight tho. We had a power outage around 1am and it came back on after 3:00. Unfortunately I'm a very light sleeper, and I can't sleep without my "noise-maker" fan running at night. Only got maybe 3 hrs sleep. Went to work, and stayed 2hrs and came home. Power is out all over town. Trees have fallen and transformers blown. I work at an Ace Hardware store, and the backup generators only keep the registers going, so we had to use flashlights all over the store. People coming in to buy batteries, flashlights, kerosene, lanterns, stuff like that. But I decided to go home. They only wanted a skeleton crew anyway. Power's not supposed to be back on in that part of town til later today. Here's a couple of pics out in front of my house this morning. It's melting like crazy already, but it was about 4-5" last night. Oh, Bustopher, I'm in Northern CA up in the lower Sierras in a town called Paradise, which is near Chico (the college party town). And no thanks, I can do without tornadoes!!! I'll take our earthquakes over those anyday! LOL Front yard Upper side area above the driveway My new flag... I love it! Looks my backyard squirrels!...See MoreSo I'm ready to set tile
Comments (7)That's the layout. I made the miters look good at the most prominent corners, and as you know, the modules don't permit doing so at every spot so one must pick and choose. Just like with dentil crown molding, you can't make every corner have the perfect modular outcome, one must do the best one can. I hid the fudge factors behind the door (right corner in pic) and the toilet. Fudge+ toilet, ugh, bad visual!! sry. Clarify: pic is layout, not final install; it looks better now. Crazy slippery versabond did set over nite! I like the feel of unmodified so much better. Glad I don't do tile for a living. Setting is fun, prep is a biotch. Comments (10)Lynne, even tho this Christmas was emotional for you going thru your Mom's things, I'm sure there were so many special memories to be relived. You are so lucky to have these family pieces to share with your siblings. Till I joined this Forum, I didn't do a lot of decorating and didn't think much about Christmas' past and heirlooms. But I've heard so many wonderful stories of special things passed on from parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. That just sounds so heartwarming. I would really love to have been part of something like that in my family. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, but I am so lucky that many of you share your stories and pictures here. Lynn, LOL, I don't know of a picture-perfect Christmas around my house. I looked forward to seeing your photos when you have a moment to catch your breath. Thanks, Judith. It sure makes me happy seeing you here again. Kathleen, if you are facing a long brown winter, how can you be glad to see Christmas stuff put away? LOL, I'd be hanging on to all the color I could. Do you leave any winter type decor out? That's going to be a subject for my next post by the way, later tonight or tomorrow. Thank you, Yacht. It makes me feel so good to hear others say something I've done is beautiful. I was surprised to hear a lot of folks say they'd cut back on decorating this year. Not sure what that is all about. My DD and DDIL have just been far busier than usual, and Christmas stressed them some as far as trying to decorate. And my DDIL and Jason take things down the day after Christmas!! Want their house back "in order". I don't get that, LOL. "But I have a whole new year to work on things for next year right? (We'll see how that goes!)"...I hear ya, Luvs. I'll probably still be procrastinating right up till next Christmas on some of the things I want to make. sigh. Nancyjean, what a wonderful gift your boys got. That made Christmas extra special, and I am sure you make it that way for that dear gentleman. Yes, the magic kind of goes when our children get bigger. And I think we will always miss that part. hugs, Karen...See Moreingrid_vc so. CA zone 9
