I have never seen snow like that. Always lived in the tropics. I am sick of the rain, and more rain and now a couple of tropical lows hanging around, probably more rain. I should not complain though, rainwater tank is full and so many areas of Australian in dire drought.

Thanks for your pictures. I really enjoy them. It gives me something to think about when shopping in the garden section at Wal-Mart.

As to the weather, we are supposed to have thunderstorms, possibly with large hail and damaging winds as was implied in the forecast this morning on TV when they talked about the barometric pressure being as low as a category 1 hurricane. We have already had one round of tornadoes to the south of us, and tornado season doesn't officially start until tomorrow. At the end of last August, after I
had just finished working on my car, two thunderstorms from different directions collided over where I live. The result was a silent (very strangely) storm that had spinning clouds that ultimately came down east of me by the mall. I stood out in my driveway and watched this unfold as the tornado sirens wailed I think 7 times. Wanna trade? Where in California are you actually?

Well, the snow storm is over with, for now. They're saying we might get more tonight tho. We had a power outage around 1am and it came back on after 3:00. Unfortunately I'm a very light sleeper, and I can't sleep without my "noise-maker" fan running at night. Only got maybe 3 hrs sleep. Went to work, and stayed 2hrs and came home. Power is out all over town. Trees have fallen and transformers blown. I work at an Ace Hardware store, and the backup generators only keep the registers going, so we had to use flashlights all over the store. People coming in to buy batteries, flashlights, kerosene, lanterns, stuff like that. But I decided to go home. They only wanted a skeleton crew anyway. Power's not supposed to be back on in that part of town til later today.

Here's a couple of pics out in front of my house this morning. It's melting like crazy already, but it was about 4-5" last night. Oh, Bustopher, I'm in Northern CA up in the lower Sierras in a town called Paradise, which is near Chico (the college party town). And no thanks, I can do without tornadoes!!! I'll take our earthquakes over those anyday! LOL

Your roses are lovely-----I didn't realize you lived in a place that got that much snow---
We are supposed to have a rainstorm on thurs and Fri.

My garden is a muddy mess with the temps in the 40's.

wow, look at that snow.I hate snow.I hate winter, too,but I hate these tornados zooming around here.Had terrible storms last saturday.Tornados going every where,and done a lot of damage.Not right where I am,thank god,but close enough.Now we have another round of it coming intonight and tomorrow..Seems like some weird weather hitting every where. Love your photos of the roses.So many I have never heard of.I have been pruning roses all this week,and finished them today,and started putting some fertilizers on them.Hopefully will have some pretty blooms in a couple months.Until then,keep them photos coming.
