WWYD? I'm ready to cry. Quartz counter trouble.
Comments (44)Hi abddeb--it's actually the eased, laminated edge that is shown in gpraceman's pic. There was no additional charge for that edge, and I wanted the more contemporary look of the eased edge. I realized there was a mitered option before I had the countertops fabricated, and was tempted, because I too was worried about the seam showing, but I talked to a few people and decided to go with the laminated edge. I think, as others have pointed out, that the laminated edge would likely be more visible in a stone or product with a lot more variation/movement. Glad I did the laminated edge--saved money and I think the end result is great. Funny, when I talked to fabricators in the area where this house is (CA), the assumption was 2cm--of course I could pay more to have 3cm, but that wasn't the norm! The sink is a 30" stainless steel Krauss (a GW favorite--I sent back the first sink I ordered after seeing the reviews here). It's a deep single bowl sink. It is fascinating to see the differences in regional preferences!...See MoreCaesarstone Countertops Reviews - Anyone have this 5211 Noble Grey ?
Comments (7)Lauren, I've added some pictures below. We are happy with them; the veining is much stronger than London Gray, but they are overall darker. They are definitely darker than the white cabinets. They seem to change some based on lighting. I tried to choose some pictures I took at different times of day. We bought ours through Ikea and got 20% off during the kitchen sale, so I think we got a good deal for the square footage we have. I was a little worried because I didn't get to choose the fabricator, but they did a good job. Also, cabs are Ikea so we still have some filler strips and trim left to do so ignore the empty spaces! :) Oh also, a butcher block is going over the exposed cabinets. I didn't want a seam on the island. Let me know if you have any questions!...See MoreMatt effect quartz (Silestone/caesarstone)
Comments (34)At my last house I had Caesarstone Raven which is a smoky gray with hints of misty white running through it. It was beautiful and I loved it so much I'm actually thinking about getting it again in my current house. I compared it with a lot of different colors, and the color is just right- not too brown not too cold. However last time I made the mistake of getting it honed and it smudged constantly. I did wash it multiple times a day but it was ridiculously difficult to get smudges out. Everything made it smudge. After trying mfg recommendations, I constantly ended up having to do something the manufacturer said not to do and use other solvents to try to get smudges out. It was really bad when the Sun lit up the area. Now I'm actually thinking about getting Caesarstone Raven without a matte finish in my current home but I'm wondering if I would be better off trying to find a Silestone equivalent color. So far I haven't been able to do that. I like the charcoal soapstone in silestone but it has blue undertones and looks a bit too cold. Any good recommendation for a smoky gray that's not too cold or too warm so it ends up looking brown?...See MoreAny reviews on Caesarstone Cloudburst?
Comments (83)I am in the middle of having my kitchen renovated with all of the new cupboards and bench tops installed earlier this week. I was super excited about my choice of Caesarstone Cloudburst - I am already hugely disappointed. I am barely using my new kitchen yet as am still waiting for the plumbing to be finished so basically just making coffee and very light cooking. I have been very careful but it marks very easily and if the mark is not picked up immediately then it’s a mission to remove i.e light coffee spill. I had already purchased the recommended Caesastone cleaners so had it on hand. Seriously it did not move the mark. I ended up using Ajax which is probably not at all good for this product but I was desperate (and extremely upset). I do not recommend Caesarstone Cloudburst at all and advise anyone considering it to take notice of the reviews and choose another product with good recommendations. My bad choice has been a very expensive mistake and I truly wish I had taken more notice of the reviews. Buyer Beware!!...See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
