HD TV National Trust Gardens- wonderful!!!
Comments (7)i did a quick google and came up w/ this site re purchase. i haven't found the chart to be viewable on line; i bet it's copyrighted so that it will NOT be found on line. ( great idea though!) certainly if all gardeners used this chart, it would be soooo much better, giving us all a common language- as we have with botanical Latin ,and rulers for measurements!! best, mindy Here is a link that might be useful: to purchase RHS color chart...See Moreare dlp sets edsels of hd tv ?
Comments (5)I don't think they are the Edsels of HD. The light bulbs are used in all projection formats on the current TV's, so that problem has not changed. The color wheels cost less than a light bulb and are very easy to replace if they go out (by a tech). I have found that the light bulbs last anywhere from 2000 hours to 12,000 hours. It varies so much, most likely due to manufacturing variations more than anything. Even LCD panel TV's have light bulbs (flourescent) behind them and if they fail, you have to replace the whole screen on most of them which is big bucks. At least once you change the light bulb, your back to the original quality picture that the set had when new, unlike the old CRT projection TV's that get dimmer and blurry with age from day 1....See MoreX post: Anyone know anything about HD / 4K tvs?
Comments (4)I can't speak to 4K TVs (which, btw, are often referred to as "UHD", not just "HD"). But most HD TVs available for the past 8-10 years or so have not done a good job displaying non-HD (or SD [Standard Definition]) content. The aspect (high-to-wide) ratio is different so the TV typically ends up remapping the display some to fill the screen as much as it can. This is very similar to changing the definition on a computer screen (essentially the same reasons). It's not clear to me whether you're discussing TV stations or all non-HD content. If you're trying to play videocassettes or MP4s through the TV, it won't look good because these sources don't have enough display information to look high-definition. You might try changing some features on the TV. Try changing the aspect ratio, perhaps accepting black borders on the screen rather than trying to fill the screen with the lower-definition signal. If you're talking about one particular input (say, VCR), you may be able to change that particular input and leave the rest optimal....See MoreDoes anyone here know anything about a firestick
Comments (15)"Regarding Elmer’s point about having enough data access, from what I understand, most current plans offer sufficient data to cover streaming, but if you have an older plan you may need to upgrade. I have Comcast‘s internet service and they have adjusted the data to support streaming over the years so it’s not been a problem for me, but depending on the plan you have a Satillite company would probably require you to upgrade your service." Satellite internet providers do not have the capacity nor the bandwidth to support the level of customer throughput that cable and telcom providers have in excess. Just as a for instance, we don't watch a lot of TV/movies but what we do use usually falls in the 250-350 GB range. My Comcast service allows for something like 1 terabye (1000 GB) before they charge for the extra usage. I doubt that most satellite providers would include more than 50 GB per month....See Moredebo_2006
