Have you ever regretted buying a newly introduced rose?
Comments (34)Now, Triple, please don't 'dis Albert. And sure people go on about his wild hair, but if you really looked at him in a well cut suit, and saw him with a great haircut---that dude would look really handsome!! And he truly was a genius. I appreciate genius, and have watched who the geniuses are coming out of our schools. Fascinating! On a side note, the genius of our high school had a huge crush on me all thoughout grade school and highschool. Tim confessed his great affection for me to my brothers, who then totally embarrassed him by blabbing that to my mother. Sigh...brothers!! Anyway he was a super nice guy, and wrote something really sweet, (and I mean really sweet!) in my high school yearbook. And I remember how much he loved airplanes. I learned to love them, too just a very wee bit later. Around the beginning of college I decided that I really wanted to be a pilot. Had to go down a different road after I developed vertigo, and vision was an issue as well. Oh crumbs... Good grief! I didn't mean to go on and on. Sorta' just got into it, after I started typing. Sorry! Love you sister, and hope you and your family had a most wonderful Easter!! :) Hugs, Debbie Debbie...See MoreHave you ever gotten "that" feeling?
Comments (28)I'm sure your feelings are just because this is a different trip than you've taken before. Nothing to worry about at all - just a hint to think carefully about all your needs while you are away. You've planned and prepared for possible seasickness, and I'm sure you're planning for everything else, too. I get that anxious feeling right before every trip. Right now I have it for DH's upcoming trip in late July. He will be a passenger on a container ship leaving from Houston. It will travel up the US east coast, making 5 to 7 stops - the itinerary isn't completely fixed just yet. But then it will go to the Bahamas, and on to England. The trip is estimated at 28 days - 9 days of that to cross the Atlantic. The container ship has 3 staterooms, and they are quite luxurious. There are 2 doubles, and 1 single, so a total of 5 passengers. They eat with the captain and crew. This is his trip of a lifetime. He has some business to conduct in Yorkshire, and then he will fly home. So he'll be gone for a minimum of 6 weeks, and I will be here caring for the animals. My anxiety is more based on making sure he has everything he needs - especially all the prescription medications! He's kind of absent-minded, and when you're on a ship for a month, well, you'd better have planned well!...See MoreWould you ever buy a 2 bedroom house?
Comments (52)Just did. It's just the two of us & we just bought our 2/1 retirement house. We have several years to get it ready & will use it for weekends until we're ready to go there full time. Might eventually add another bathroom, but might not. We're going to renovate the one we have with a walk-in shower to make it easier for us as we grow older & I'm sure we can live with just one. I know a lot of people prefer a bigger house to accommodate guests (& stuff) but with the money we save on a smaller house, utilities & tax we can put them up at a local B&B when they visit & still come out way ahead! My parents stayed in the large family home too long because they wanted us all to have our own rooms when we came home - even though all of us were almost never there at the same time - maybe twice a year. The rest of the year, they had to deal with all of the maintenance required on a 4/4 with large yard, etc. Our primary residence is a large 3/2 and that's cool too - just takes me longer to clean, more money to heat/cool & lots more money in taxes. We can, and prefer to live small rather than large. Our last residence was a 1/1 farmhouse & we loved that too. Had no problem selling it either....See MoreThe government sent me a letter. LOL
Comments (14)Oh gosh!!!! Don't even get me started on SS! DD collects for DGS because of Steve's death. His other son from first marriage does too, rightfully so. BUT with his ex wife and DD eligible to draw at some "possible future point" everything is screwed up every few months!!!!!!!BIGTIME screwed up too. Neither want to draw for themselves and have told that repeatedly. Doesn't matter. If you get a notice you've been overpaid according to their calculations since there may be 2 "possibilities" somewhere in the next 30 years you'd better have the $$ to send in....See Morejewelisfabulous
