If you have the picture saved on your computer:

at the bottom of the reply box here are several options one is Houzz Photo click that and then in the big box click browse, click on the area in your computer that you have your pictures stored, go to the picture in that area and click on that picture. It will put the picture in the big box then click insert and it will be added to the reply box and your post then just submit your post as usual.

If you go way way down to the bottom of the page here there is a FAQ link click that for lots of good info including tips and tricks for photos.

Just save your picture wherever you want on your computer. (I always like putting the pics I want to post on the desktop so I can easily find it.)

Click on the Photo camera icon under the comments box here, find your picture, and then click Open.

Patty, the photo icon is not visible till you click in the write a comment box.

I have a question.

Most of my pictures are on Photobucket
so I use the Email&IM to copy and post the URL here, (thanks to help
from Moni.) When I look here for my pic I see the URL with the arrows, etc. and click to see the picture.
I've been told that even though I see the arrows, nobody else does; other
people see only the pic. Is that right? My Photobucket is marked
Private.

Sue even said her Photobucket is marked Private. You need to set it to Public for anyone else to see your pictures.

Sue_Va, if you provide a direct link to a photo you have stored in photobucket (like the link to 'Grandmother Gaines' you provided above), the photo will show up for anyone who clicks the link -- even when it's in a private album. Because your 'Relatives' album is private, it keeps anyone from just browsing around to see any other photos in the album... you must provide the direct link.

Party, your cats are beautiful!!! Every once in a while I see a beautiful cat and want to bring him home, but it quickly gets vetoed. 3 really is enough for us. Power to you, though!

haha! jasdip, we went to the Humane Society to adopt one or two... they kept giving them to us and we couldn't say 'no' until the 5th. They are seriously spoiled cats! Here's the special trouble-maker... she's lounging upside-down in the crotch of a tree. :)

can the photos come from my phone?......it has been two years since I got this computer and a new printer(which I never did figure out how to work)

Sue_va, I just tried a little experiment... I copied the URL to your photobucket image, then clicked 'Photo' and pasted the URL into the 'File name' text box on the file upload popup. Using this technique, houzz loads the image directly (rather than just the link). :)

pattico, have you tried again to upload a photo from your computer? what exactly is the problem you're having? If you know where the photos are located on the computer, it should be easy using the 'Photo' option.

Absolutely they can be uploaded from your phone. As I stated in my post with my dog picture it was from my phone. It works the same way. Click on the photo button or the houzz photo button, I have to use that one on my phone and tablet, then click on the browse button on the box, in the list that opens choose where you have your pictures stored on the phone, in my case I chose documents then gallery, then click on the picture you want to post, it takes a minute then it appears in the box, click insert and it appears in the reply box, then submit as usual. What kind of phone? Is it android or apple?

Raven - I'm going to try your instructions for posting from a phone. I have an apple and when DH returns (he borrowed it) I'll give it a try.

I have android but I think it should be similar.

Oh my, I think I found my problem, but why is this picture so big? Is there a way to change the size?

I have to laugh! That's a picture of my stargazer lily plant. I don't know how this site determines the size of the posted pictures. I have had them show up in various sizes.

Houzz is always changing my picture sizes! but I don't see a pattern as to when they will do it... sometimes it makes them larger, sometimes smaller, and other times they're unchanged. :p
